sheena lee chapter 1 . 5/23 Reading this (and The War in the Woods) for the 2nd time aroundit might be a Bones fic but it’s still one of the best mysteries I’ve ever read. Huge fan of your writing overall. |
Cally Finsbury chapter 15 . 5/15 Thanks |
Guest chapter 6 . 12/29/2019 The thing about just dismissing hurtful words because there was no malice meant? It doesn't help the person thoughtlessly hurting others learn to do better. So yeah, Booth was 'just worried about her' but he still threw her mother's death in her face to prove a point. Brushing that off isn't cool. |
RedJohn'sDaughter chapter 15 . 7/2/2019 Ok, so it's been a while since the last time I've commented on a fic, but this deserves it. You managed to keep me on my toes till the very end, something I don't find that often. The characters are amazingly written, every single one of them. I thought you were to leave a loose end with the Jason plot, but it all got solved really nicely. I've read thousands of fics, from a lot of fandoms, but I can say that this is one of the best ones ever. Congratulations for this. This is just my opinion, but I had to tell you, because I've loved the story, truly. Thank you for sharing this. |
Hazmatt chapter 15 . 10/26/2018 Amazing story! I really enjoyed it! |
annem57 chapter 1 . 4/9/2018 Hey. Just found this, and it’s awesome! Thank you for your efforts - I appreciate the process. Anne |
Anna chapter 15 . 6/11/2017 So I know this was published forever ago, but I just binged Bones and then started looking for fic, and it's 3 am and I just finished this and I teared up several times while reading this and now I'm actually crying because this was so amazing. Booth and Brennan were so in character and perfect and the story was so wonderfully balanced and paced and I was actually terrified when Brennan was on the mountain and I was surprised by Mickey and how everything tied together. I also loved TJ and Caleb and ngl I have a huge crush on Jaime. This whole work made my heart ache because it is so well written and I felt so connected to Booth and Brennan and their relationship. Thank you so much for writing this and sharing it, it is absolutely beautiful. |
FanFicFan76 chapter 12 . 4/1/2017 You know I love your writing. But in keeping with Brennan's assertion about factual accuracy... If Angela was ovulating during outward bound when they had unprotected sex (which she would have had to have been), then fertilization took place that day or the next. By the time she arrived in WA state, 2 weeks later, she was 4 weeks pregnant. Pregnancy starts counting from last menstrual period, not fertilization. The baby (called an embroyo at this stage) wouldn't have a well formed brain, true. But it would have a beating heart and functioning placenta. |
the arthurian prat chapter 14 . 3/23/2016 this was incredible! I accidentally stayed up until 3am finishing it ;D also, I'm from Portland and I've lived there for years, so getting to read about it from an outside perspective was ... a little weird? but still cool. let me know if you're ever setting any more stories in Portland, I'd love to help out! |
rynogeny chapter 15 . 6/22/2015 I don't read as much fanfic as I'd like (no time!) but I think you should know that my whole weekend was lost to The War in the Woods (Saturday) and TKitC. (Sunday.) Seriously - went to bed at 1:30AM on Saturday, and 11:30 last night, and got nothing else done over the weekend, including my own writing, because I couldn't stop reading. Well done. LOL. I think the difficulty with FF and well-loved characters is one of interpretation - we don't all see them the same (in the Bones universe, this is particularly true of Brennan, IMO) so questions of in or out of character are wholly subjective. I try not to judge FF on whether it's OOC or not, for just that reason - but when I find someone who seems to have the same view of them that I do, it's a special treat. And what kept striking me here is that in the big picture way, much of your story of how B&B get together paralleled what the show did in terms of Brennan's struggles in particular. The fears and anxieties that are present in KitC seemed very much in line to me with what we see of her in the S7 opener, and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed that. (And for something written several years before they got together on the show? Very well done.) Looking forward to reading the rest of the series (as soon as I catch up on the real life that I lost this weekend!) Also? I've got the first Erin Solomon book on my Kindle, and swear I'll get to it soon. Summer is when I have the time to try new authors, and you're at the top of my list. |
pinkmama1 chapter 15 . 6/3/2015 That was intense. I just read this story and I'm very glad I didn't read it before it was finished cause I have to say I was pretty freaked out at one point. It's really really good. I loved The War in the Woods too. That was a lot of fun but this one . . . I read some of it yesterday and the rest today and I had trouble sleeping. And now I'm off to read the rest of your stories for Bones. :o) Lene |
Guest chapter 15 . 5/31/2015 This story was AMAZING. I literally spent the entire story jumping back and forth on whodunit. At one point you even got me thinking artie was faking being a wheelchair and it was him! Very, VERY well written. |
williamfloyd2000 chapter 15 . 8/12/2014 Amazing story. |
emoinva chapter 15 . 3/15/2014 Thank you for this excellent story. I read lots of mysteries and enjoy those that have lots of twists to them like this one does. I tried to read just one chapter a day(like savoring 1 piece of Godiva chocolate after dinner) but the last 4 chapters I just couldn't stop-had to find out who was the bad guy. I was really surprised that Washington was part of the plot to lure Booth into the woods and that Booth had it figured out too. Great twist! I'm glad you wrapped up Artie with lots of feeling, too. I was wondering about him when everyone was in the hospital with Brennan talking about the outcome. Great read, looking forward to your other stories... |
Julie SBXMomX chapter 15 . 2/21/2014 I read this story and your prior story of the out wood bound retreat. Both are great stories. This was had great relationship dynamics and a good crime case that I could not foresee the killers. I thought you kept them in character well throughout the story. I hope you will write some future Bones stories as I have really enjoyed reading your work. Thx |
