Reviews for In The House of Elrond
July chapter 18 . 9/6
Bonjour,

Amazing work, thank you for sharing! :)
Eolas chapter 18 . 9/17/2018
I just finished the entire story. I don’t read as much as I used to, my eyes are not what they used to be. I couldn’t put this down! Thank you so much for writing and sharing your perspective on Elrond, Gilraen and Imladris! I love this! I will read more of your stories when time permits but this one will always be my favorite! Thank you again!
Namikaze Soul chapter 18 . 6/3/2018
I don't know if I will be able to fully express my feelings, or if you will even see this, but I needed to try. I am slowly making my way through all your works, your writing is so beautiful I forget that I am not actually there. I was most hesitant of all the things you have written to start this. I only vaguely knew of Gilraen before, never giving her much thought or care, and thinking this would only be a long tale of a simple life that though well written, was perhaps not worth the read. I can not think of anytime I have been more wrong, gladly and horribly wrong. At the end of the first chapter Gilraen had me cheering for her, and through her life I argued passionately for her, screamed for her, and celebrated for her. I often would finish a chapter to simply start it again or to find myself reminiscing a certain scene and going back a few chapters to read through it again. I savored every word of this tale over and over. By the time I finished reading her letter on the last chapter I couldn't breathe, never have I felt any emotion come over me so quickly and completely. I only stopped shaking and cleared my eyes so I could read the rest. Her fate burns me, burns me deep in the carefully cultivated part of me that demands justice and happiness for those deserving, and my God does Gilraen deserve it. Ónen i-Estel Edain, ú-chebin estel anim. Nothing more perfectly fit the meaning of this story and of Gilrean. She has given everything for her son, for the future she will never see, she does it with no thanks or reward. Her strength is incredible. I am nothing compared to her and in her situation I wouldn't have done anything as well as she much less have handled it quietly and gracefully, accepting her fate and position with no argument. It pains me but I agree with her handling of Elrond, even said in anger it can not be denied that he truly felt this way, he made his bed. Though I am still fond of him. I truly cried for all those people she would never see again and who could not even say goodbye at the end, Maethor, the Els, Erestor, Aragorn, Aurin, Maeniel, and all the others in Imladris who made it come to life. I am proud Gilraen went to help her people and could not be convinced back, she knew she was needed and while she so easily could have went back to Imladris she showed so much strength in not. I am both proud and sad for this very reason, her heart was in Imladris but her duty was to her people and by God nothing came between this women and her duty, I have so much respect for her. I regret she never became close to Arwen, the one who gave her son so much happiness, I believe they would have been friends, though perhaps Gilraen would not have been able to completely understand Arwen forsaking her duty to her parents she would have accepted her decision and loved her I think. Again you have once more drawn a love of another little known to me character, that of Erestor. He's charmed me completely and I found myself cheering for him as well. Gilraen reuniting with Arathorn filled my heart, I'm glad she knows true peace and love again, she waited patiently for so long. Just in that glimpse I saw their love eclipsed anything that could have happened between her and another. Again I am so proud of her strength and loyalty and faith, she is truly a good and pure hearted person full of and deserving love. Writing this to you now is the only way I can keep myself together I believe, expressing my emotion and feelings no matter how poorly to the author, perhaps the only one who can fully understand, is soothing. It has been many years since I have read The Lord of The Rings but I have now dusted off the copies on my bookshelf and I am ready to savor the journey once again. So know that even though I haven't left reviews on your other stories for I often cannot express myself with words written or spoken adequately, and was mostly compelled to on this for some grasp at control, everything you write I love dearly. Your words bring me to another world and for a time I can forget cold reality and be warm.

OrigamiStarz chapter 1 . 8/11/2016
This is amazing! In a lot of other fan fictions people tend to ignore Gilraen or write that she died with Arathorn, so this is really refreshing. ;)
Anjion chapter 18 . 4/29/2015
Truly beautiful. Thank you
Anjion chapter 12 . 4/26/2015
Who is Arthor? I don't remember hearing about him.
Anjion chapter 7 . 4/23/2015
I don’t know whether to be sympathetic or amused. You really do write well. Where did you find all the Elvish words?
Anjion chapter 6 . 4/22/2015
I have to say, the idea of an embarrassed Glorfindel and Elrond is very amusing!
Anjion chapter 5 . 4/22/2015
How do you keep it up?
