achillius chapter 1 . 4/1/2017 I loved this entire fic, but I loved the end especially. Keep writing! |
kimsheeran chapter 1 . 8/5/2016 Every paragraph tugs at my heartstrings. You write Toph so beautifully :) 3 |
meriland25 chapter 1 . 6/8/2016 This is an amazing fic, brilliant toph POV, wonderful writing. Thank you! |
Guest chapter 1 . 2/20/2016 Excellent and well written! Sad though. Sniff. |
mollrat chapter 1 . 4/29/2015 The last two lines gave me chills. |
ClementineTWDG chapter 1 . 1/30/2015 :-) |
Indigo chapter 1 . 1/27/2014 Uhm, my reaction to to story is probably not the intended one, but damn this is creepy. There is to Toph in the beginning, so concerned about her freedom, and in the end her parents do manage to cage her. With their love. |
EmeraldTyphoon47 chapter 1 . 1/3/2014 Beautifully written. The way you portrayed both Gaoling and Toph's parents was delightful and in character. |
Digi-fanCatt chapter 1 . 9/30/2013 My only response to this is a smile. :) |
The Other Problem chapter 1 . 5/10/2013 I must admit I never spared much thought about Toph's parents. This fic made feel a little guilty about that. |
Always-Striving chapter 1 . 5/1/2013 I've never seen a story with Toph and her parents like this, it's stunning. I love how the story is set around her going back home and she realizes just how much she missed them more and more as time goes on. There's something so beautiful about the backdrop story you provided - them surrendering peacefully just for her sake. There's such a gentle grace about this, gentle but sad. Add to that the brilliant characterization and I can only come to the conclusion that you've created a masterpiece. |
Guest chapter 1 . 3/20/2013 loved it |
calliopechild chapter 1 . 1/2/2013 Lovely. Found this again as I was going through my favorites, and if I could favorite this twice, I would. Very nice job on the poignant, almost melancholy tone throughout this, and for all that we don't see Toph's parents for more than 5 minutes in the whole series, I thought you did a great job at nailing down a very realistic response from parents whose only daughter had gone from sheltered, (supposedly) helpless heiress to a master bender in their eyes in the span of a day, then disappeared to fight a war. Great little fic, and thanks for a great story. |
Vladimir Zhivanevskaya chapter 1 . 12/29/2012 This was a great story. I love the title, and I even listened to Iroh's song once again. Poor Toph; her parents just can't seem to understand her... |
