Freya's Valhalla chapter 6 . 8/24
This is the first fanfic I've ever read revolving around what is going on in the Woodland Realm during the events of the War of the Ring, and I must say it's perfection despite its short length. I really loved the parallelism between Aragorn's movie-verse "for Frodo" and your "For Legolas". I loved it because I can actually imagine it going down like that. He is the representative of the elves in a life-threatening quest to vanish evil once and for all, and while some may think that he was selfish to join the fellowship instead of going back home to fight alongside his kinsmen, I see Legolas' choice (as shown in this story), as one made foremost for his people. He knows they will have to fight their own battles while he is away, and yet he knows his battle is more important in the great scheme of things. And his people know it too, which is why when they fight they fight for their home and for their Prince who has the courage and strength to ride to Mordor.

I. Adore. This.
Lstephenson chapter 4 . 3/11/2019
I enjoyed the risk you took here with the shifting timeline. The first four sections set things up so perfectly, the argument in council, setting everything into motion, Candnaur's capture upping the emotional stakes, followed by the moment that showed why he wanted to go at all, then his loss at Legolas's merciful aim, to forestall the torment of the orcs, and from there you continued, showing how Legolas suffered by the lack of communication with his father, his friend's loss, and how his close friends buoyed him, and he them.

The parallel also shifts with the delightful moments with Thranduil and Thorontur, with Thorontur taking Thranduil to task first at allowing Candnaur to go off to the battlefront and then the excellent moment as Thranduil is fletching arrows for Legolas: I admit it. I was wrong. Short of going, myself, to apologize, this is the best I can do.

Then you wrap up, this the beginning of the Miron arc (which is wonderfully sweeping and I am on my third time reading through it), with Legolas grieving, alone in his private rooms, no friends to be with, not even daring to seek solace from his father, who Legolas believes he has failed, only to find his father right there providing all the solace he needs, along with comfort and confidence.

An excellent opening to the saga that continues throughout Hours of Darkness, Tangled Web, Doubt, Art of Artifice, Loyalties, Betrayal, Afterwards and Practice to Deceive. (I may have some of them out of order at the end there; can't read my notes well.)

I do believe you will be finishing this amazing saga soon, I hope. We must find out if Arahael gets his due, and Saeldur finally confesses all and finds forgiveness for his foolishness, even as I understand why he stopped himself from confessing on multiple occasions.

Hawaiichick chapter 1 . 2/2/2017
What a great story and sweet moment at the end. All the wonderful feels. :)
Halmaethor chapter 7 . 5/18/2016
Aw, another great one. Love the bet about Faramir and archery, and protective Thranduil telling them in no uncertain terms that his son comes first. Brilliant.
Halmaethor chapter 6 . 5/18/2016
Really like this one too! Love the detail about how fitting it is that the twins are fighting at the transitional period between the time of elves and the time of men. And, of course, the call of 'For Legolas!'
Halmaethor chapter 5 . 5/18/2016
Aww! Love that Arbellason was worried about Thranduil's safety, not just annoyed that he abandoned the feast. And Legolas' reaction to Thranduil's confession was brilliant. I really, really like this one! 3
Halmaethor chapter 3 . 5/18/2016
Very cute story! Love seeing the more vulnerable side of Thranduil.
Halmaethor chapter 1 . 5/18/2016
Aw, I love how Thranduil calls him 'little leaf'. That's adorable!
And I love how you handle the issue of fealty.
Nicely written.
InkWizard chapter 7 . 4/25/2016
Wow I enjoyed them all, but I absolutely loved chapters 2, 4, and 5.
1356-2478 chapter 7 . 3/27/2015
I don't know if this is complete or not, but I very much like what you've done with it so far. Especially with the birth of our favorite Greenleaf. That was priceless! Kinda cute with how terrified the Mighty Elvenking Thranduil Oropherion was of a wee elfling. I loved that aspect you put in.
Can't wait to read more!
H chapter 7 . 3/8/2015
I absolutely LOVE everything about this (but especially the relationship between Thranduil and Legolas)! Hope you're feeling well!
Guest chapter 7 . 2/18/2015
Love your stories! Keep up with the good work :D Could you maybe write one about little Legolas and his "doting uncles" Thorontur and Arbellason? That's a relationship you didn't cover that much i think - would be fun to read though :)
