It's been 6 years but I'm going to drop you a review anyway. I really enjoyed this, a very unique storyline and the way Axel and Roxas' love for eachother developed was beautiful. I had a feeling from the start it would end that way but still sad all the same. Your writing also became neater and more refined as the story progressed. This was a great read, thanks for writing :)

Okay okay at first I wasn't even going to read this but then I did and now I am sobbing grossly TAKE RESPONSIBILITY DAMMIT.

Hahaha... took me awhile to actually read this and review. *is shot* I'm sorry~ I had to stop reading fanfiction because of school and stuff. I was highly disappointed with my final mark in first year but I guess I can't entirely change my mark in just the last month of school before exams (I was so god damn close to getting that freaking scholarship! So damn close! *is sad*)

But oh well! School is done and I'm finally done with all the extra school-related things I had to do because of the specific program I chose. Which means... more fanfiction reading time!

*cough* Anyways, back to the actual story...

God, this story is incredibly sad. I can't imagine what it's like knowing you're going to die and you can't do anything about it. I mean, yeah, no one wants to die but knowing you actually don't exist anywhere but here and being here will ultimately kill you...god, talk about life being cruel. Life is so very cruel indeed.

I always enjoy the conversations between Axel and Roxas. Their relationship was very fun to read and I like to watch it develop into something more. It's sweet how Axel supports Roxas in his weakest time and vice versa.

Love the little details like the weapons dulling to show their 'usefulness.' I'm a 'details' type of girl P

I really didn't want them to die. I really didn't. This is probably one of the only stories I read that they DO die. Usually, even with the foreshadowing that they were going to die, something usually happens and everything is fine in the end. This is the exception of course. As much as I DIDN'T want them to die - I mean who wants to see their favourite characters get killed? - I actually liked the ending like this.

Two boys - or you can say men - trapped in a duty to protect people they frankly don't really care about slowly learn there's more to this world when they meet each other. The ending was lovely. I can't think of better lines to end the story really.

Axel probably changed the most in this story, yay to character development. I especially love how caring he turned out to be. Sigh, I absolutely love Axel and Roxas..

So, Roxas wasn't, per say, going to day. Instead he's going to be experimented around like a lab rat with an experimenter who doesn't follow ethnic rules. Wow...*shivers* I think I would rather kill myself than have to go through THAT!

So Roxas sees himself dying...he sees Axel dying...man, life is just so cruel isn't it?

I can see why Roxas decided to hide all of this from Axel. It would suck if someone loved you only because they were going to die.

'Was oblivion outside or inside the Wall of Paper?'

Guess the City of Paper isn't much of a sanctuary anymore. They aren't safe anywhere.

So Axel is going to die for sure in the sunlight...but what I don't get is how is Axel suppose to kill Roxas? I'm actually kind of surprised they are still living on. I guess trying to make most of their time before they die huh? That's so sad...

Hmm..Roxas had a new dream? Could it be because they have changed their future by deciding to die together? Ouu, I wonder...

And yeah, I'm pretty quick with reading newly updated stories ) I kind of cheat because I set my hotmail to send me an alert to my cell whenever I get a fanfiction update ) It's really handy and I'm always up-to-date on the stories I read! (That did not sound stalkerish at all...)

Although sometimes I'll get an update of a story and I'm nowhere near a computer with internet. Talk about torture. I remember it happening once during my formal, my date was wondering why I was glaring at my cellphone...

*cough* Anyways, loved the chapter. I really like how you throw in some humour even in serious moments. As always, writing style and descriptions are lovely. The story does feel slightly rushed but it's still really good. Keep up it! You're almost done! )

Oh boy, didn't expect that one coming...the city is just an experiment and everyone in the city was created just for the experiment? How did Roxas even manage to keep all this to himself. It's basically saying you don't really have an existence.

So.. they can't leave...they are stuck in this damned experiment city. Ouch, talk about bad luck.

I really liked how you started the beginning of the chapter. Roxas is really going through a lot isn't he? He's starting to care about Axel a lot but he KNOWS he's going to die. It's like he wants to pull him closer and push him further. He was really conflicted and you showed it really well.

I liked how when Axel asked Roxas, 'Then what would you have me do?' Roxas replied, 'Don't die.' Which is a better response than the 'I don't know,' that my head came up with )

I really liked this line from this scene:

“Then why did you let me, last night?” He hissed. “Answer carefully, Roxas. My heart’s in this, too.”

Especially the last bit ) How sweet!

Oh and dang the guards. You'll expect adults to be more mature than that...throwing rocks? Jeez. I'm glad Roxas smacked the rock back and Axel put their boots on fire. They deserved that.

You know, I find it kind of ironic that the 'City of Paper' was being protected by fire. However, the name does seem to fit. Paper is really flimsy, just like the city. Without extra protection, it can easily wrinkle and be ripped apart."

So guessing how Roxas got angry at him, Axel did lose himself for a bit.

It must be scary though, to not feel anything. Can Axel feel the fire on him?

So hey, he found a new way of protecting himself without burning his clothes in the process xD But would it be effective enough for a surprise attack?

They really care about each other and that is what makes them sweet. I giggled when Roxas kissed Axel so, if he was sick, they will get sick together.
