arsehattery chapter 1 . 10/3/2016
That was beautiful; like, I had to sit there staring for a moment or two after I finished reading it, because god, it was so beautiful. Like other reviewers have pointed out, Yukimaru's character was so wonderfully written, and Jinoh, Jin was just perfect. I also especially like the moonlight thing, and the title, which makes perfect and beautiful sense. Another thing I adored here waswell, I don't really know to express this accuratelythe moment when Yuki kind of, y'know, had to face reality? I mean, when he realised this wasn't how it was supposed to go, and. You know. I'm sorry, but that was absolutely brilliant. Perhaps my favourite fanfiction in this fandom. Thanks for writing it.

really well written, it's just a shame it's so short!
Momosportif chapter 1 . 10/30/2009
I am so glad that this is the only Yukimaru Jin fic. Because there's only one and if it was completely lame, I think I'd cry. Not that this beauty was not worthy of tears, I'm just glad its so miraculous!

The taste of moonlight motif was gorgeous. The image itself and the phrasings of it were exquisite. And very good for expounding Yukimaru's character.

Which by the way was fabulous! I agree completely with your embelishments of his very limited personality; he was appropriately naive and smitten. He was so sweet in his struggles to commit to focus (and who can blame him for being distracted by Jin?).

Even more miraculous was Shudo's character though! He was SO dark and twisted... nearly sadistic... actually, kind of explicitly sadistic. Very well done!

Jin, of course, was perfect in his small but vital part. And his lines to Yukimaru were beyond perfect. Not only was it adorable and totally sexy (the lip touch made my stomach drop), but it was completely in character and very samurai.

The entire tone was samurai-esque, which I guess means sparse and stark. The single images or words imply so much. It lent so much to the style...

Overall, excellent premise and incredible execution.

A thousand thank yous for such a rarely beautiful piece.

:)
RubyTuesday13 chapter 1 . 4/10/2009
So, on a whim, I strolled into the inbox for the email connected to my ffnet account, and discovered the sentence:

I've always felt that if any character in 19th c. british literature was in need of a thorough arse-rogering, it was Darcy.

So heady was the state of my glee concerning it, I was informed by powers beyond my control that I needed to inform you of it, perhaps with a PM that said something eloquent like: IKNOW,RIGHT? But who is this Roger, fellow, anyhow? or, Roger? I hardly even know'er! and so on...

Instead I stumbled on a Samurai Champloo fic about Jin being the best bushido schoolboy ever, and Yukimaru getting fantastically poetic about it. It was.. a bit distracting. Particularly when JIN SAID THINGS. They were very good things. I liked them. A lot.

I still believe this is the best exploration of Yuki's character ever written. Glad to see it here!
