A-adorable *gasp* I love this. So sweet. My favourite line was: a light breeze the ruffled the nearest trees, creating a shushing noise reminiscent of whispering, almost like the two shinigami being there alone was a sort of secret.

Well, it was...cute. Sort of.

They were both a tad out of character, though Kira more so. His hesitation to do as Ichimaru asked initially was a bit out of line, I think, and his getting upset with Ichimaru's routine teasing of him and calling on him for meaningless things was a bit out there. Also, I don't ever see Ichimaru apologizing for something like waking Kira up.

Their speech was fine, for the most part, I have no real complaints about that. However, as far as consistency is concerned, I would suggest either sticking with taichou/fukutaichou or captain/vice captain throughout the story.

The structure of the chapter, though, scares me. Please, space between your paragraphs. The wall of text is a monster that nearly drove me away. Spell-check can also be your best friend, as I noticed you had a few mistypings.

On a more positive note, your detail is nice and sets the mood well; you're certainly not lacking in description. You have the basic personalities of the two down, just a bit of fine-tuning and it'll be perfect.

Aww, I really like this! It's sweet, but still a little bit sinister, & sums up so much of their relationship in one simple scene. Gin here is, well, pure Gin: thoughtlessly mean, but not without that one discordant note of genuine longing that you have to strain to hear beneath the din of his casual manipulations. & I love your Izuru - that lone, long-suffering villager who will *always* come running whenever Gin cries wolf, because his backbone, although very present, can't help but bow like a shepherd's crook in the hands of the one who's meant to be minding the flock.

Plus the whole fic is just a damn cute mental image, & sleepy!Izuru is one of the most adorable things ever. :3 (I wish I had one of my own to keep me company in these wee morning hours. . . XP)
