this was amazing.

I really liked this story, wonderfully written. I was afraid that this was going to be a Jessica and Dean fall in love while Sam is sick fic. Thankfully not. Dean telling Jess about their childhood was cool and I loved John doing his part to take care of some of the situation. I appreciate how you made this fit in with the pilot. Thanks for sharing and I am glad I found this story after all these years.

I absolutely loved this story. I mean, I was terrified of where it was going, then over-hopeful, then the end hit and it rolled straight into canon. Amazing. Also heartbreaking because Dean would be mourning Jessica that much more while trying to help Sam as well, but it would explain how Dean reacts to the djinn dream. Thank you for sharing.

Awww...Dean did leave him a message that he had been there...that Sam may have missed entirely if he hadn't emptied out that envelope. So glad he saw it and new Dean still cared enough to be there, even if "in secret!" Would have loved to have heard the conversation after Sam handed it back to him, but...maybe leaving it as you did has an even greater emotional impact. Great story!

Usually just wait until the end of a story to comment, but wow! I LOVED the way you did Dean's journey...each leg between stops for coffee, gas, and whatever, and each segment reflecting on different memories triggered by the "not close" comment. That was REALLY REALLY well done, and a great presentation of Dean's journey to get to Sam. This popped up as a rec in a reading group I'm part of and I'm REALLY enjoying it so far.

I don't know if you still monitor this account, but I wanted to let you know that I discovered your story tonight and sat on my couch for several hours because I couldn't stop reading it! Love Dean and Jessica bonding as they take care of Sam. This was a wonderful story, and while the ending broke my heart a little bit, I appreciate you returning the story to canon.

Great story! Despite how long since you posted it, please take these compliments fresh: You're a great writer and 'My Name Is Jessica' is a stand-out story. I was hooked the whole time. Poor Jess didn't get any time for us to get to know her in the show, but this is really great. Thank you for sharing more of Jess with us. :D

Hello! I just wanted to say that I really loved reading your fanfic. In my opinion Jessica is a great character and if she had lived, I totally would have imagined her's and Dean's relationship to be sort of like the one depicted here. She would be the bond between the two brothers and also the one to keep them in line. I really enjoyed reading it and I know I'm like 5 years too late but continue doing what you're doing :D
