I could have sworn I reviewed this but if I did I must not have been signed in. I really enjoyed the back and forth of this story, starting with a Battousai version of Kenshin, followed by a deeper look and then this lovely third installment. I really love how Kenshin has guilt but is still so strong in himself & still has a sense of mischief along with his traits of strength, kindness, even temper & thoughtfulness. Kaoru seemed pitch perfect for a version of her that as grown up royal & been deferred to. I loved that she is smart enough to realize one of them must honestly answer the tough questions to move forward & she is brave enough to go first. And what an answer! Lovely installment. One the on hand, it ends well here, on the other, I would enjoy the courtship!
