"Disenchanted" "Against the Grain" and "Bruised" have been my favorite AU fanfics of all time. The actual "24" characters mimic their characters in the show completely, and the OCs feel like they could fit right into the series. I don't read other fanfics, only 24 because I think it's fun to see what other people think happens in between the "days" for the characters. I only wish that the series turned out like this fic. It was so believable. Amazing job. I keep re-reading over and over again.

I've literally read all of your Disenchanted series in about a week, and now I'm crying because it's over. I've only recently discovered this show/this fandom, but I am so amazed at how wonderful the fic is. Yours blew my mind. I thought the show was good, but I'd much rather watch this version after s5. I'm also in love with Alex. Your ability to weave your OCs in with the original characters is truly a talent. You'd think they've been around since at least s2. I can't praise you enough for how amazing this was. Such a gift. I will be reading them over and over and over again. Thank you for writing something so amazing!

I looove Rick and Alex doing something normal like shopping before finally getting to go home together. Rick asking for "the coconutty one" makes me smile.

Haha I love Tony the uncooperative patient. And eee, baaaaaabyyyy. :D

I love Bill trying to adjust to Alex not being at home with them, too. Karen telling him to shower made me laugh a little bit. She's a subtle one, that Karen Hayes.

And the end is just awww in so many ways. I love Rick and Alex getting to relax and reconnect, and of course I love you know who's reappearance.

Thank you so much for writing this story - in fact, the entire Disenchanted series. I haven't been on this site for ages but, just for fun, I decided to check in to see if you happened to have updated your story. I was happy to see that you had, and ended up re-reading the whole thing so I could really enjoy the end. Some things I loved about it:

1) The interesting parallels between Alex and Tony (both impulsive and fiercely protective when it comes to their loved ones) and between Michelle and Rick (who love just as deeply but make decisions more rationally), even though Alex-Rick and Tony-Michelle are two very different couples.

2) Balancing action and romance, all while telling your own original story and sticking credibly within the broad plot lines of 24.

3) I could mention a million little moments in the story that I loved, but in the very last chapter I especially loved that you redeemed Jack with the flashback to him offering to take Alex's mom away, as it was the best he could do for her.

I hope you don't mind if I correct you on one little issue that nagged at me while I was reading - regarding Michelle and Tony trying to conceive a baby. As an intelligent woman who does her due diligence, Michelle would know that there are certain times of her cycle when she would be likely to get pregnant (although practice at other times certainly doesn't hurt!) and there are times when it makes sense to test (about two weeks after the fertile period.) So, for example, they wouldn't be up "trying" one night and then testing for pregnancy the next morning. (Oh, and fortunately, having one early miscarriage does not increase your odds of having future miscarriages.) Perhaps something to keep in mind for future stories:).

Thank you for hours of enjoyment reading your stories! I love the way you write Tony and Michelle and I have never been as interested in "original" characters as I am in Alex and Rick. (In my mind, they're almost as "real" as the characters from the series.)

If you ever decide to write an Epilogue to this series, I would love to read it:).

Oh! I just love your writing and I really hope that you will continue either on this story or another one, hopefully where we get to meet the baby Alemida - cant wait for another of your amazing stories!

Is Jack dead

And there it is. This ending was a perfect balance between action and emotion, between hard realities and wrenching relationships, between finality and hope.

This feels so much like the end of an era. Really, it's been years since I've given a flying fig about 24, but I've been hanging in there, checking back periodically, because I HAD to see things wrap up for these crazy kids in your wonderful universe (which has LONG since been far better than the trainwreck of a show).

The decimation of CTU, Jack's (possible?) death and a final end to the ghosts that have been chasing Michelle, Tony, Rick, and Alex makes it feel okay to let go, at the same time baby Dessler-Almeida reminds us that even in fictional universes, life goes on.

It's been quite a ride, bookworm, and I'm so glad I was on it. If you ever write a novel, shoot me an e-mail, okay? Rock on.

That's about all I can say. I just love it. I'm so glad you finished! I love how fiercely they all want to protect each other - Claire going after Alex, Michelle refusing to go without Tony, even Alex wanting Jack not to give up.
