amazing!
Expecting Rain chapter 1 . 3/13/2010
This is great! I love how you write Chuck and Nate's bromance: it's very complicated but you can tell they love each other. Aww. I think you wrote Chuck just about perfectly, too. I especially liked his imagined response to Nate's mother in the first section.
Shinjiteru chapter 1 . 8/15/2009
Wonderful, reflects their friendship so well (though I tend to think there's more to it )!
graygirl chapter 1 . 7/1/2009
I'm sorry, I can't think of much to say except for I love this. Nate and Chuck, they're too sweet. how you write Chuck is just perfect, adorably sweet, his love for his friend, so simple and yet so... honest.

also, loved the "to go all Shakespearian final act catastrophe on each other and tell the truth" thing. so true! very well expressed :)

great little fic. great little piece giving us a certain insight into the guys' friendship
Amory Vain chapter 1 . 6/30/2009
Oh, this is gorgeous. What a perfect filling-in of the gaps left to our imagination by the show itself-I could see these scenes slipping into canon seamlessly, really. Well done.

This one's going in my favorites. I hope you write more in the future.
xxxxx11111 chapter 1 . 6/28/2009
Oh, this was wonderful. Why can't the GG writers remember that Nate and Chuck fucking love each other. The emphasis is always on the friendship between Blair and Serena but their bromance runs deep. We need soe serious reconciliation for Season 3.

Ahem. I digress. What I really loved about this was the progression of Chuck's feelings from mild amusement at watching how N, B and S all self-destruct to his burgeoning feelings for Blair and then how it will impact on Nate. What's so frustrating about Hi, Society is that all of Chuck's actions aren't just to keep Blair for himself but are also because he loves Nate and he wants all 3 of them to survive intact. And it all goes horribly wrong.

Anyhow, I'm off to check out your other work. Marvellous.
jada jasmine chapter 1 . 2/19/2009
awesome. i can't believe i haven't read this yet, considering how often i scour the fandom for wonderful oneshots like this. i adore it. bravo. i will be reading your other work (or hoping for other work) for sure.
Paxa.Romana chapter 1 . 2/15/2009
I can't tell you how much I FLOVED this.

Oh, I forgot in the other review, this is piscescharm, from IMDb, hah. We have not talked or anything, but just to let you know, I'm from IMDb.

Back to this amazing piece of literature. I think I'll take the time to list some incredible lines I loved…

(“Yep, Nathaniel is here, he just lost his virginity by fucking his girlfriend’s best friend. He’s going to stay cause he’s really wasted and most probably high.” – “Thank you Charles, remind him we have an important family dinner tomorrow evening.”)

Bahahahaha. This is fabulous.

-

And then Serena is gone and Nate gets drunk and high all the time and Blair looks at her prince with closed eyes and pretends not to notice anything. Chuck keeps his mouth shut and watches them wither.

The Non-Judging Breakfast Club! NJBC! I get it! Okay, early, I thought you meant NateJenny/BlairChuck. This is better. I love this.

-

So Chuck decides bro before hoe and falls down on his bed before he realizes that maybe, Blair is anything but a hoe to him.

I can't tell you how much I adored this. It initiates Charles/Nathaniel bromance, but also matures Chuck in five beautiful seconds when he realizes that Blair is possibly more to him. :)

-

He’s laughing and he doesn’t think he’ll ever stop.

That just made me smile.

-

The line is dead and Nate is knocking on his door in Monte Carlo on Christmas, and Chuck doesn’t care about BlairandNate and Victrola and the limo and cotillion. He opens the door and Nate is standing there, tired and grinning. “You were lying about the weather, though. It’s fucking awful.”

BEAUTIFUL! You have a way with illustrating something so precisely, without rambling (ahem, I do that often), which is very impressive.

-

He scoffs and calls Nate a “poor, rich kid” and Nate skips the “make the yuletide gay” part because Chuck would never let him hear the end of it.

I love that you bring them to the real world. Sometimes on the show they really seem like they are a part of a separate universe, not just because of their statuses, but actually because they are written in a certain way.

And then, I love that they smoke pot. I wish that would come back from the pilot.

Sorry this review is obnoxiously long. I haven't been formally introduced to the punctuation form known as a 'period' for very long.

This is going in my favorites! You are FANTASTIC!

RiseAgainPhoenix chapter 1 . 2/15/2009
Holy shit, this story is beautifully, gut-wrenchingly written. I love the off-camera scenes you've chosen to describe, especially the second one after the Captain's arrest. You really captured their imperfect friendship, how they're actually crap to each other and crap FOR each other, but still best friends because they love eachother.
uncorazonquebrado chapter 1 . 1/19/2009
I really, really liked this one! I've been missing the C/N friendship a lot too this season...like in 2x14, where the hell was Nate? Its so annoying! so thank you for writing some proper C/N friendship :)
SacredLimo417 chapter 1 . 1/18/2009
Lovee itt.

I agree, there isn't enough CN in season 2! I love Chuck trying to console N and trying not to love this girlfriend.

The CN dynamic is GOLD!

fabjob.
blairbear014 chapter 1 . 1/18/2009
Not really the type of story I'd read, but it was good. I really liked it.

Good job.
troubled.writings.x chapter 1 . 1/18/2009
With what we're getting in season 2, I've found that CN have become another contrivance on the show. But that you for this because it's amazing. I especially loved how you didn't make Blair too big of a concept because she def isn't the only thing that CN have between them.

So thank you for reviving my love for these two guys. :]
