Reviews for Shivering Isles: Haze of Madness
DevoutOfSheogorath chapter 68 . 2/20/2014
I think this one was my favourite of your Oblivion stories! Besides (obviously) having the advantage of the best place of action, you displayed Lahallias change in character really well.
Plus, I really prefer your version of Apocrypha over the one Bethesda showed during Dragonborn... Really, whod store his precious books next to muddy puddles of who knows what corrosive substances?

In response to the previous guest reviewer:

"
If the only way you can think to make your own characters look good is to constantly put down all the canon characters around them...then they're honestly not very good characters, are they?
"

Shes an Altmer, remember? They ARE a little stuck-up, and I would have been surprised not to see her acting a little bit like that.
Also, it adds a humorous touch to the story :D
Guest chapter 68 . 1/6/2013
If the only way you can think to make your own characters look good is to constantly put down all the canon characters around them...then they're honestly not very good characters, are they? I lost track of how many times you resorted to writing someone as stupid or inanely rambling for no other reason than the chance to have your "super cool" original characters roll their eyes at them. It's really tiresome and left me wondering why I should bother caring about your entirely new characters at all if I have to sit through abuse of characters I already care about in the process.
anonymouse chapter 40 . 10/20/2012
40 chapters in and I'll be honest...you really, really abuse the words "teased" and "amused." They aren't a shortcut to instant good character development or interaction, they're just distracting at this point. The excessive focus on these two things also means that the development/interaction we do get is stilted and weird, and very forced. It's like watching someone try to write a romance novel with nothing for research materials but other romance novels - bad ones.

The story is also plagued by a need to remember "show, don't tell!" You do a lot of telling instead of showing, which doesn't help the character development problems above.

Hm... I don't recall seeing these wing tattoos on any Aureals or Mazken in the game. Is it your own addition? It sounds pretty.
ginnyisdacoolest chapter 12 . 5/6/2010
Hey there - as with your other stories I'll post a more complete review later on, but I'd just like to make known my love of that line 'She thought she was going to squish her, like a wee thing what goes squish!' I could so see the Sheogorath ingame saying that :)
Ra'iira The Fiend chapter 5 . 5/3/2010
Plot bunnies, ftw!
GuesssWho chapter 68 . 4/6/2010
And why the sea is boiling hot and whither pigs have wings?

No chance of a sequel, is there?
Terror13 chapter 67 . 12/16/2009
pff idiocy

you ruined the ending idioticly highheels jabbing with the staff it should have been a power on power battle of the gods and you had to destroy jygallags body to have truely have won he couldnt have stopped himself until you done so

also the ending in which you were acting like a fool in the sky oddly while he said his epic speech which u shouldnt have edited if even so slighty its

"I will take my leave, and you will remain here, perhaps you will grow to fit your station mortal, Mortal... King? God? it is uncertain."

"Fare thee well Sheogorath... Prince of Madness" then the epic vanish of a finally free'd god showing gratitude and equal respect on in the one legendary uninterupted sentense

though you had to ruin it with your idiocy ill have you know sheogoraths ploy of madness is just that mostly a ploy.

he is all about trying to drive mortals mad the ones who keep hold of their own reality and dont succumb are the ones he respects not the ones who fall prey to madness because of weak mindedness

indeed why your character is the champion not a fool from the isles
Ritual chapter 68 . 11/13/2009
Great conclusion. Lahallia-Sheogorath really came into her own, handling herself with Azura and Mehrunes Dagon. Glad Dyus finally found peace, and I noticed the nods to Gatewalker regarding the eyes and the request. I never expected someone to manipulate Azura, but you managed to make all the pieces fit. I liked the reasoning for letting Jyggalag loose again. I always figured Jyggalag would go to one of the realms not belonging to one of the Daedra Princes, like the Chimera of Desolation or Soul Cairn, maybe followed by the Grummites that SI seemed to infer were from Jyggalag's era with their attachment to the crystals and being the "original inhabitants." Thanks for sharing your story of SI.

YAY! I'm so sorry I haven't reviewed in forever, life has been busy for me these days! I do read your updates religiously during my commute, so I'm so excited to see the conclusion of this tale!

Thank you so much for sharing your gifted writing with us! I see you plan on writing a Mass Effect tale, which is another one of my favorite fandoms.

Until next time!

That was epic, bye bye Relmina! And doesnt Dagon make the cutest bunny rabbit!
cowhand Steve chapter 68 . 11/12/2009
Another great chapter! It was nice to see Azura, Mehrunes Dagon and Mephala again. And Dagon as a little red bunny rabbit priceless.

I also want to say thank you for writing such an awesome fic. You’ve been updating almost every day, and yet you’ve still managed to consistently produce long, high quality, entertaining chapters. Thanks again, and congratulations!

Yay! Go Lahallia! The effect that godhood is having on her is interesting, though I'm glad to see that the relationship between her and Orphael has not changed.
Millenia-the-wings-of-valmar chapter 67 . 11/10/2009
I love this story. I can't wait till the last chapter. What happened with your Vincent story I was going to reread it but it is gone.
Tamuril Telrunye chapter 67 . 11/10/2009
OMG! Well not like I didnt expect her to win, but this is awsome. Clowns, mimes and Haskill aside, (And I almost feel sorry for him ALMOST being the key word here) I love it. Particularly Lahallia/Sheogoraths quips back to Jyggalag. Pricless. Although you have to wonder about him, infected with madness and all. I always hated his parting speech. It sounded so forboding to me.
