| Shella chapter 1 . 7/9/2009 The second-worst lack in the series was that we never saw L, Near and Mello interact; this is a fascinating possible version of that missed opportunity. I like the idea of L and Near provoking each other, sparring with words and logic, not necessarily with affection but (maybe grudging) respect. I enjoyed and was intrigued by this fic because of how you portrayed their relationship. (The first-worst lack in the series was, of course, L's ending. One reason the movies rock. Still not ideal, but better.) PS: And I like that L told Mello he'd live. That seems a very L, and L-to-Mello, thing to do. |
