atutsie chapter 9 . 1/9/2015 I greatly admire this piece of masterpiece you made. It's really original. One of the best kurokura fanfics i've ever read. Damn. My heart ached reading this. |
chocolander chapter 9 . 1/11/2013 ohhhh what an unexpected gem this fic is! a truly unique fic, though the traveling across alternate dimensions does remind me of byakuran in katekyo hitman reborn but to do it because revenge... that is so twisted and yet desperate... oh by the way, your summary truly did not do justice to the depth and complexity that is your fic. in retrospect, maybe your summary was sort of a what-if fic- what if Gon and co had not managed to convince Kurapika to let go of his revenge? that Kurapika had not fully subscribed to their view? in any case, I'm truly glad to have read your fic! though the bittersweet ending did kill the romantic in me that yearns for a happy ending but I guess this is the most realistic it could be. I do feel pity for the not-Kurata!Kurapika, having to be saddled with the past burdens of Kurata!Kurapika... that there's never an universe that Kurapika can ever have a happy ending... |
shoku pan chapter 9 . 10/2/2012 Oh my goodness! This was surprisingly good! Even though the kurapika kuroro pairing is so mainstream, you made it so unique in your own way! Thanks for the great read! :) |
AUehara chapter 9 . 7/13/2012 Well I ought to say that up until what I have read this is quite original alright! I confess that at th begining I was quite lost but thar was cleared as I read on -nor completely but enough- and whoa!, this is quite mindfucking from my point of view! Really enjoyable! .Atsuko Uehara |
Ephemeral Muse chapter 9 . 1/14/2011 Read the whole fic before I decided to comment. 1) The concept itself is both refreshing and original. By giving Kurapika a schizophrenic personality that develops after his life had reached its prime, you can show every part of the character development. However, I feel like you could've gone even more into the tension between the two Kurapikas, the conflict between accepting yourself and being taken over, just the character development itself. You gave yourself a huge opportunity, and you did do a good job-I just think you could've played with the similarities and the differences and the other sides of the whole. 2) You do have a couple of typos here and there-be careful of those next time as the technical stuff can sometimes make or break your fic, no matter how good the actual concept is. That being said, your sentence structure and your actual style of writing flows really well-I actually like the way you write. I just think that you give a bit too much attention to the actual happenings of the "real world" rather than the "inner world" of the two Kurapikas and their interaction. 3) Finally, the last chapter. As you've said in your author's note, you were about to give up on this fic. I can see that. I feel like you were tired of it and you sort of rushed it. You could have given more insight to the tension between Kurapika and Kuroro afterwards-I mean, Kurapika doesn't even touch Kuroro anymore, for a whole year. That's not something that Kuroro can just be like no big deal about. While you have mentioned that Kuroro accepted it because of his unconditional love (which was a bit OOC, but it's something you can get away with since your fic is borderline AU anyway), it's almost impossible for there to be absolutely no stiffness or tension between the two. All in all, a great fic. Just next time, try not to rush it-since this fic does seem to attract the reader emotionally, it'd be better if you provided more insight and details overall. A lot of areas felt cut off-as soon as I felt a twinge in my heart, you moved on. Since you made the characters really original anyway, you could've explored all sides of each character- maybe even Shalnark as the all-knowing observer who never voices his opinions. All that jazz. Hehe, I just think you're an awesome raw talent, so I wanted to give you as much critique as I could. ) -Muse |
atrophy-07 chapter 9 . 11/7/2009 Finished the whole thing before reviewing. I got to say this is one of the most unique fandic I have ever read. Three cheers for originality, not to mention writing style. Kudos, my dear. I loved the plot and the awesome rendering is an amazing bonus. This has to be one of my favorites. Actually, I can't think of anything else to say besides the fact that this is the first Kuropika I've read and that it urged me to read more on the pairing. Thank you. Take care! |
Ladyeiramae chapter 9 . 9/3/2009 You're very right... This is one of a kind. It's really good. Very very interesting. I found 2 or 3 errors in grammar but they're totally forgettable. ] i like your very original plot and i am totally amazed at the way you pulled it out. Great job! |
bonbonpich chapter 9 . 7/15/2009 one of the best and the most original i've ever read in this fandom. you could do the original yourself with this (but with this KuroKura is already great). it was your idea, you have solid point in this topic, crossing dimension and all. I would like to see this idea of yours in a form of movie very very much. Your summary is too simple (for me) but your content is very intense and meaningful. The way you explain each Kurapika was over the edge. And you named the real Kurapika ‘wraith’ that thought was a bit scary for me, but it fits the description, even when he laughed at the weaker Kurapika, brr, but I can imagine if hatred would drive him that way. Yet, the real Kurapika still maintained his conscience to feel guilty but the weaker Kurapika didn’t, that part is very interesting. The saddest part, where Kurapika stated that he wanted to be in the dimension that his alternate self is happy. It really got me going, and in being happy, he was with Kuroro, which he hadn’t been expecting. There’s not much Kuroro in here, but I like the way you’ve written him anyways. So like him, yet so caring. |
onskidrow chapter 9 . 2/2/2009 Woah, that was a brilliant story. The idea is especially refreshing and the story itself kept me on my toes (which makes me glad this was posted all in one shot). The ending was interesting too-not a full-on tragedy but not happy either. If you ever get around to writing a sequel, I'd look forward to that. |
MARYLOVER chapter 9 . 1/14/2009 This fic was one of the few that touched my curiosity so much I had to stop gapping. The idea was quite good and original, this alter!Kurapika who's indeed Kurapika may be weaker, but the plot was so well made I didn't even have time to formulate a question, I understood everything clearly and got surprised with the sudden ending, I mean the part where the two Kurapika's got together and became one, and it was the pained, sad one who lost, you're right. I like how Kurapika schemed a plan like that, I got shocked of how hatred could put your mind on the edge, to the point of sacrifying his own self, body, mind and soul for a cause only a sole survivor could understand. And I don't mind if Kurapika and Kuroro wouldn't be physically together anymore, it's okay, they had their time and now it's love what rules, at least that's what I think. Thank you for sharing this mavelous fic, and good for you to finally finish it, there are so good and yet unfinished plots around there, it was good for you to share it after it was complete. Good luck with your projects, your writting is quite good. Take care, bye. |
schia-chan chapter 1 . 1/2/2009 I think this fic deserves A LOT more reviews than it already has. Ur story really made my day, pal. Can't wait to see your other stuffs. great, great job on it :) |
phppsmss chapter 9 . 1/1/2009 awesome! |
La Soldata chapter 9 . 12/31/2008 That was... perfect. Everything blended in so smoothly, transition was just right, not too fast and not too slow. Not dragging either, despite the constant shiftings between the two Kurapikas. And the fact that this whole multi-chap fic was uploaded in a day helped a lot. I know I could've died waiting for the coming chapters if you did this installment style. And I especially loved the fact that my eyebrows were furrowed with confusion the entire time during the first chapters. Not the annoying, what the heck type, but the type of confusion that made me just want to go on reading until I can finally understand the plot you've presented. The shiftings were effective, in a way that you made them feel very surreal. Imagery was great too, I especially loved that dream about Kurapika and a spider floating on the river together. Morbid, but very symbolic and very much in character. Really, just Thank You for this. I couldn't have had a better New Year's gift! Keep writing! |
