I had fun reading both DT and IHE and would be interested in reading a prequel. I have only just found your stories, so if you have already started one, hopefully I will be reading that soon! For constructive criticism, the main thing I noticed a bit of is that you have a tendency to change tenses in mid-sentence or mid-paragraph. Part of the reason I would like to see a prequel is that I am only vaguely familiar with Final Fantasy, so the numerous characters from that fandom are a little lost on me, such as the mention of the man who adopts him. I don't think I know/remember anything about that character from when I played the game, so I have nothing to base him on. If you were to write a multi-chapter prequel and explain some of the history I think it would really help these first two to be understood by poor souls like me.
