WolfieJimi chapter 5 . 1/25 Amaaaaaziiiiiiinnnggg 3 Watson is so lovely, and Holmes is so adorable. gah. I love them. |
WolfieJimi chapter 3 . 1/25 Pahahahahahaha oh my god this is INCREDIBLE pahahahahah! I LOVE the insanity and ridiculousness of Holmes and Watson's life and personalities being highlighted through the eyes of a normal (although above averagely perspicacious) person. It's so well done, and so funny - even more so because the humour rings so true to character. Holmes and Watson *are* eccentric bohemian weirdos who emphatically do not act how people are *supposed* to act. In the context of their bizarre and outre cases, that doesn't stand out so much. Stick them in a department store at Christmas, however, and suddenly you get to enjoy their social oddness so much more (also, like *relatableeeeeeeee*). (and also CUTE! I love them!) Anyway. I'll shut up now. But I love this. Such fun. And I was/am in a black mood this evening, but this has made me properly laugh out loud. Thank you 3 *slams NEXT CHAPTER* |
Jenny chapter 2 . 9/3/2014 I've worked in retail (a bookstore) for a couple of years now and it absolutely boggles my mind the see how utterly unobservant people can be. The little rant expresses some of my inner thoughts when I see people just walk by the very thing they're looking for. I'm a patient person by nature but even my patience has its limits especially during the holidays. George orwell's little essay title "bookstore memories" sums up the incongruity that is a bookstore. And even though it has been a many years since that essay was written it has not lost the ability to be so relatable. |
StoryLover149 chapter 2 . 1/6/2014 This is hilarious! I guess from the POV of passerby and "normal" people, Watson and Sherlock would seem a bit (that's an understatement) strange. I especially liked how Watson was looking at all the weapons, and Timothy thought he might be a murderer or something. That and other parts made me laugh out loud (but muffled, trying not to let anyone hear). Extremely amusing :) |
Sage chapter 5 . 12/25/2012 I actually have never been shopping for Christmas gifts, so I'm afraid I might be acting quite like Holmes in this case... But anyway, this is completely hilarious and heartwarming and I am very amused by your store clerk and his canny observations. This is much appreciated at the time *smiles* God bless and have a wonderful holiday season! |
Book girl fan chapter 5 . 11/7/2012 I would very much like to read the sequel to this, the other story he mentioned, coils you bring Timothy Crachitt back again? I actually liked him. |
ShadowedRose17 chapter 5 . 10/3/2012 I love this story! As crazy as it may have been, it's not often a writer has the talent to write their own character into a story with classic characters well, and typically I won't read them. But this, was just fantastic. I loved it, everyone was in character and it made me laugh very much God bless you! |
Mister D8a chapter 5 . 9/17/2012 Brilliant story to read after The Immortality Trilogy. I cried as much laughing at this one as I cried in sadness in the other. Please tell me you wrote the other story as well? James |
yamina-chan chapter 5 . 3/28/2012 Why do I never read christmas related stories at the right time of the year? XD But never mind that, it was truly an enjoyable story. I feel quite sorry for Timothy since it really must have been strange to him. For us readers however, it was more then interesting and quite amusing all the way |
Agent ERA chapter 5 . 12/16/2011 Very charming. I, in particular, would love to read more about Timothy, if you have the time, that is. |
The Red Fedora chapter 5 . 11/29/2011 Brilliant and heartwarming and chaotic - will always be one of my favorite Christmas reads:) I will keep your friends' families in my prayers - time lessens pain but it never truely goes away Merry Christmas:) |
nomdeplume30 chapter 5 . 12/27/2010 Very nice. :) Another brilliantly fun story. It ended kind of abruptly, but since it was the last Timothy saw of them I suppose it makes sense. I'd love to see more of Timothy. He was a very fun character. |
nomdeplume30 chapter 4 . 12/27/2010 Describing Holmes as "London's most bizarre shopper" is highly appropriate, especially after finishing the chapter. This is hilarious! On to the next chapter. |
nomdeplume30 chapter 3 . 12/27/2010 Got a real kick out of "no one could possibly be as bizarre as those two- not in real life." *snicker* I love the humor you so freely inject in this story. And the perspective of Timothy is quite engaging, if unconventional. And what an awful name. What were his parents thinking! |
nomdeplume30 chapter 1 . 12/27/2010 "...he had just in essence asked me if we carried lethal weapons for holiday gifting to friends and family." Best line ever! I laughed out loud at this whole scenario. And I'm enjoying the outsider's perspective on our lovely doctor. |
