I love this story. It had me on the edge of my seat for the first 3 chapters. SPOILERS: What was going to happen to AU Dave? Could he ever go back home or back to his job? Would he want to go back to his job? Will he go to his brother for help? Will AU John give AU Dave a new life/identity?
What was going to happen to John? Would he ever make it back home? Then, in chapter 4, I got most of my answers. You posed the question in your notes whether the reader would get involved in an AU character. I definitely did. By the end, I was very interested in what the 'bleep' AU John was doing. Why was the government watching him so closely? You answered a bit in your notes, so thank you for that at least. I love reading your SGA stories. Thank you!

Quite an interesting Stargate Atlantis story. I particularly enjoyed the last chapter; where there is partial closure and yet a new mission for our Sheppard in mending some emotional fences with his brother. Hope things will be better for Parallel-Universe Dave now.

I really enjoyed this. I loved the way you used the AU to explore the John-Dave dynamic, and I really appreciated the way that you gradually showed us clues that this wasn't the earth we're used to, it worked very well indeed, and became much more than a device for allowing you to fill in some family background without risking it being contradicted. Great story, thankyou.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. It's an interesting twist, that in this universe the discovery of the Stargate triggered intense paranoia and an oppressive government. Well written. I agree, sequels with the two brothers in each universe finding each other have interesting possibilities.

I second everything you said about outsider point of view ;) so I enjoyed this fic very much. The AU is fascinating in its own right, and I love how it's not John but the secret cabin that makes Dave really realize that he's been taking people at face value. Those Sheppard men are so oblivious sometimes! ;)

I liked this fanfic. I suspected parallel universe when I read further along and was glad that my suspicions were confirmed. I definitely also like the idea of John being the older brother and Dave the slightly resentful younger brother. Your explanation of their rebellion and the fact that Dave couldn't quite pull it off is brilliant. Great job!

I absolutely love outside POV fics, and I've read just about every gen fic I can find with David Sheppard. This was such a fantastic combination of both! At first I was a little confused by events, and then it became clear what was happening, that the world you were showing us isn't quite the world we're used to. I usually prefer to see Dave as the older brother, but I really enjoyed the way you portrayed him here, and his interaction with John. I also absolutely loved John going to see his father because it was the only chance he'll have, since he's lost the chance in his own world.

I really hope that someday you will write a sequel. I would love to read it, and I'm so curious to see just how John's conversation with Dave would go...and how AU Dave and AU John might find each other again. I love the idea of John as a resistance fighter, lol. :D

I quite liked this. It was entertaining and unique and well written.

I loved this AU. The Dave and John dynamic is a powerful one. This was heartwrenching and cathartic to read, all at the same time. You did a great job exploring the complexities of their characters. I'd love to hear more about this AU John if the mood ever strikes. (On a side note, I've always subscribed to the notion of John as the eldest.)

Nice! I really liked the AU, probably because John was the REAL John, i.e. our John, and it provided the opportunity for us to sympathize with him on a whole other level. I really liked the moment when John asks if the other Holland survived in the au when he followed orders rather than trying to save him. It was a subtle and quite satisfying insight into our John.
