And this is why I will never understand how Kataang happened. They don't work and he doesn't understand her. Zuko does and this is a very believable way that they could've started a relationship after the war. Well done.

And this, THIS is why I think Zutara is so much more believable than Kataang.

Zuko never shied away from Katara, ever. Every facet of her personality, he faced, and he NEVER lectured her or made her out to be some kind of bad guy for it, because he understood. Something Aang, even if he matured, would never come to understand.

This was definitely cute, though it felt a little choppier? I don't know, maybe it's because it's more dialogue heavy than what I have read from you so far, but that didn't make it any less enjoyable.

It definitely has great potential to turn into something more, though ironing out the details could be a bit of a pain. I love the idea that you have planted with this story.

Overall, great job, this was fun.

What I'm thinking is: Damn, why isn't there a chapter 2? Or a chapter 3 for that matter?

And no, you weren't too harsh on Aang. Even if he knows what people need to heal, that doesn't mean that Aang always gets the dark bits that haunt people's hearts (see the episode where Katara needed to confront her monter's murderer), but Zuko does.

Overall, a well thought out and believable set-up for a Zutara relationship. Also, I adore the way you described the party and what was going on. LOL for drunk! Pakku with Gran-Gran.

This fic is so many different levels of win i can't even describe it. Zuko drunk was in character, perfectly. You described exactly why i think zutara would be better than kataang. And honestly, it was the one liners; the 'it was easy to forget iroh had a wife..' and the 'don't know' to katara's 'when did you get so tall?' that really got to me. Perfectly in character, and just... PERFECT. Kudos. I read this twice :)

The Zutara here was just perfect.

I don't think it was harsh on Aang, if anything I think it was a very realistic portrayal of how the gaang would have been a few years post-series. I really love Zuko's intensity.

I am a Zuko/Katara fan, but I dislike fics in which they randomly jump into each other's arms and complain about how Aang and Mai don't appreciate them or something like that and then immediately decide to sex each other up.

Katara's stubborn insistence that everythings is okay rang true with how she is in the show in my eyes.

I'll check out your other work. You have me intrigued.

I love how well you write the interactions between Zuko and Katara. The tension, the emotion, the just right visual descriptions. Fantastic.
