carick of hunter moon chapter 2 . 7/27/2010
nice idea for a story hope you up date

to help

look up world war two

The Long Range Desert Patrol and the special operations executive (SOE)also look up Divid Sterling and the early years of the SAS

think about using dragons to pick up and drop off raider like commandos and the SAS and there use in saving down air crew

think about what play dragons would play in the Dunkirk and later in the The Battle of Britain

also think what would the SS and it leader ship use dragons for got to be somthing nasty and the part that dragons would have on Operation Barbarossa and Operation sea lion

also think how WW2 weapons AA fire and fighter planes would effect dragons and what they would be able to do also could a dragon hold and fire a large gun or weapon/

hope this is of help

hope this helps

The Best way that dragons would be utilized in a WWII combat setting would be in a Helicopter/support role. Also with machine guns a downward trend in fighting dragon size would make slow dragons a smaller target.

update soon, please. it's a good story
Kairan1979 chapter 2 . 8/31/2009
I have an idea. You can use WWI aeroplanes instead of WWII planes. It makes sense because existence of dragons is more that enough and people don't need aircraft that much.
Belac the Warrior chapter 2 . 8/16/2009
you should right about the battle of britain. it was a massive airial battle between the raf anf the luftwaffe (german air force). it's not the only air battle, but the british obviously had a much larger role. it might take some research though
Faerthurin chapter 2 . 8/13/2009
This is good, except that I don't like the number of people Athena and Kinsey between them seem inclined to quarrel with. I hope Alicia Brockway, at least, learns a lesson and becomes a valuable crew member. As Kinsey puts it, there is no place in war for minor disputes.

I wonder what would happen if Kinsey gave Athena some dragon-jewellery. She'd probably become even more vain, but it could be funny.

Thank you for writing,

largefish8 chapter 2 . 8/13/2009
I like this story...you're doing a good job so far. one good battle to concentrate on would be of course, the battle of britain. Also...in 1939,l the battle of the atlantic was starting up in WW2...so plenty of oppotunity for battles there. However, it is worth noting that Naomi Noviki made up more then one battle in her series (two examples being the battle of Dover at the end of book 1 and the ransacking of the african colonies by the Twasna tribal dragons in book 4) so if you want, make up your own battle.

One such WW2 tech that might ruin a dragons day would be Anti-Air flak rounds...which sounds to me alot like an explosive version of the 'Pepper guns' from the books.

The RAF might use dragons to aid Naval activities...like spotting U-Boats. Temeriare in the books was able to spot sharks from extremely high elevation...so a dragon would probably have little to no problem spotting s U-Boat coming up to torpedo firing depth and Longwing acid is meant to be very potent...so they might also be used to engage enemy naval vessels.

Thats all the ideas I have. I recommend you poke around wikipedia, look at what type of war tech was around in world war 2 and use it to come up with a few ideas.

I hope these ideas help you out. Keep up the great work on this story...it looks like its shaping up to be really good.

Hmm fire breathers hitting munitions factories and celestials hitting the navies?
Lixie Lorn chapter 2 . 8/11/2009
I love it!

Well, dragons aren't as fast as aeroplanes, but they're way more accurate. Also, they can be used as transport.

Right?

Most decidely good. Athena was also the godess of wisdom. Nike was the god/godess of victory. Keep going.
Faerthurin chapter 1 . 4/6/2009
Yes, great idea! Do you intend to show all of WW2 (or however much you put in) as fought with dragons, or will you mix dragons and aeroplanes? Whatever it is, I'd love to see it!

Athena is an endearing character. Not as precocious as Iskierka, but just as... I don't know what, but it's good.

Thank you for writing, and I look forward to more of this story!

I like the idea a lot. Definitely worth continuing.

The Wall Had It Coming chapter 1 . 3/30/2009
Love the beginning. Can't wait to see what kind of mischief Athena will get into; she seems the type.

If you would be so kind as to check out my fansite and perhaps post your story in the fanfiction section? I would greatly appreciate it if you would just take a look:

Can't wait to read the next chapter, and mayhap hear more about Kinsey's family tragedy? Please?
Obversa chapter 1 . 3/4/2009
Your story, although abeit lacking in detail and overlooking certain facts (ex. a female captain of a Greyling when the Corps only allows women to captain Longwings), does possess a good, fair pace, excellent writing, and an engaging beginning.

I look forward to the next chapter! Your story does possess potential, and it will be interesting indeed to see how dragons fare against more modern-day weaponry, including the machine gun. Perhaps the heavy-weights, such as Regal Coppers, could fly with machine-guns mounted atop their backs?

Indeed, the potential for imagination and elaboration in your tale is extraordinary and extensive - I daresay reading future chapters shall be quite fun and exciting!
Fictionjunnkie chapter 1 . 12/3/2008
Very cool, continue onwards! I was just wondering what it would be like if there were dragons in the more recent wars, like WWI and WWII.
