I loved it! (okay, here I go again, it's the number one thing I say, but I'm being honest _) Ciel's still a kid, no matter how mature he is so the sense of loss that he felt was undeniable. This fic illustrated that well, and it's nice to know that the ring could at least be returned to him because Sebastian knows how painful it was for Ciel to lose everything before his very eyes. Even if he knows that what was lost could never be found again, it's obvious that somehow, in his child-like innocence, he still hopes that isn't so.

Enough rambling for me, thanks for the fic!

I like how you captured his angst about the ring, in both series (anime and manga) you can see the ring acts almost like a security blanket for him, he constantly touches it and always has it on his person.

I was surprised too when Sebastian made the ring appear on Ciel's finger. After all, what was lost shouldn't be found again. What is even more surprising is that the butler repaired the ring even if his master hadn't told him to. I wonder why he bothered to do it... It certainly wasn't only to make Ciel happy. Or was it? ... ... Bah, how would I know what's going on in a demon's head? XD

It's true that Sebastian seems to know EVERYTHING about Ciel. The young boy only has to exchange a glance with his butler and he already knows what to do. But we can't really say that the other way around is true...

P.S. I just remembered something that I read in your fic "Faustus Rising" and that I forgot to mention in my review: "The butler once more inclined his head, palm pressed to where his heart should have been." That was my favourite line of the story! "Where his heart should have been"... Really nice and clever! Just wanted to let you know! (_~)

Very well done. I like the angst on Ciel's part, and the way he thinks of Sebastian is very in character. Sebastian knows him, and that's a scary thought.

My favorite part was that his "future" changed to Sebastian. Nice twist to what you had stated earlier.

That was brilliant. ) I love the take on that scene-it absolutely drove me nuts how much there was unsaid in the manga, and you touched on it quite nicely.
