I absolutely recognize that this is the end of this fic whether that was originally intended or not. I'm not mad. It's not a terrible cliff hanger, team avatar is back together, and there is a clear direction the mind can wander in to finish it in dreams. All the same, I'm gonna press follow. Never say never.

This was fun, everyone back together, Sokka and Zuko being doted on. Lovely. Also, motivated and injured Sokka going in to fix an airship motor. My brain says he does it with flying colors too. My brain also says that when he gives Zuko back his dagger he is going to make it the best story ever about the dragon viper. Head cannon is so much fun.

If you haven't followed up with the AtLA graphic novels, I suggest you do. The most recent installment came out this month, actually. From one fan to another, it's great to find more material. And maybe, if we're lucky, a little inspiration.

Thank you so much for sharing this and your amazing take on injured and heroic Sokka. I really was scouring archives for Sokka fic when I stumbled on this and this really was everything I was looking for. The effort of writing this is not lost on me, and I'm more than grateful for the results.

Oh. Near death Sokka. With tevlevel of injuries he was sporting, I'm not surprised. I am happy you took the time to write out that amazing and angsty sequence and admit to reading it about three times before moving on with the story.
Water bending not healing broken bones makes me happier than the "whoop who your broken arm is magically healed!" The one time Sokka breaks something in the graphic novels. Of course I was still pleased that he broke something. For reasons.
Iroh has the best timing in all of the AtLA world and this story only confirms that.

"The universe and I have an ok interesting relatioship." Hands down best Sokka line I've ever read and so true for how this story is playing out for him. Still, multiple broken bones, feverish, wind in single combat against a fire bender and I cheered out loud. This is the Sokka I've always imagined existed in the show, if the show had been more violent.
Woot, Hawkie and Toph to the rescue! Also, as I have said nothing on the topic, you write an awesome Suki. I like her, and you write her as the strong and talented individual she is.

The idea presented first of Toph and Zuko heading out for meals and company was really sweet. The follow up that Toph goes to Irph for tea and company when Zuko leaves is just adorable. We all need an uncle Iroh in our lives.
Also, I'm now always going to think of Hawky as Lassie and nothing can stop it. "What is it , Hawkie? Sokka fell down a well? Oh no, show me where!"

I just finished reading the ATLA comics a few nights ago. Can confirm that Aang either missing or comparing his own failed plans to Sokka is cannon. Not that you are at all worried about that, but it makes me laugh everytime they miss their idea guy.

Speaking if idea guy, I'll give him a pass on not thinking the boomerang incident through. It worked, but oh, how embarrassing to boomerang yourself. Captain Boomerang, get the ole boomerang back and immediately does himself another injury. Side note, injured and heroic Sokka is still everything I could ever hope for and I am reveling in it.

Sokka injury combined with brave and resourceful Sokka is everything I've wanted from an AtLA fic. I didn't know that until I read this chapter, but now that I have, I can assure you it is. You write him very well, the hole cracking jokes while clearly severely injured? I can see that.

Also, best use of the never give up dagger I've read in a story. A

I've spent two chapters now trying to decide exactly how much Sokka's leg hurts him. A lot and he's not admitting it or not so much and he's playing it up? I suspect it hurts quite a bit by his repeated lack of balance. Also, the idea of Sokka torture is right up my alley and a fic that follows up and includes his broken leg makes me happy.

Wow, that statue plan really backfired, didn't it? Pun intended. Poor Sokka. Emotional torment and physical discomfort. I can't tell you how much I've been scouring Avatar archives for something like this...

Wonderful chapter. Interesting use of bad guy building in the background, hell of a way to make certain parties of the three nations work together.

Whew, where to start? Fair warning before I get into reviewing all 8 chapters, I am an unabashed ahsoka fan. I'll start with how much I'm 3njoying your characterization. The Sokka and Zuko conversation at the start was dynamic and very them, right down to Sokka face planting in the street. Also Sokka sweeping the Pai Sho games thank you for that detail, I love when authors illustrate Sokka's high points with his low points so well.
About the plot, oh, a bunch if kids playing in adult politics is always a fun plot line. And so accurate feeling in a post war avatar world. The total and complete using of them in the parade was well played out. So, is book four about political intrigue? I'm intrigued. Excellent writing, thank you for sharing, I'm on the next chapter.

Best Story Ever! I just finished reading through all 8 chapters and was crying, laughing and wincing all along the way. It's just like the show, but if it was geared a little more adult. I hope you are doing okay since the story hasn't been updated since 2010. If this review finds you well, I hope you will consider finishing this story if at all possible. Thank you so much for what you were able to give us though!

I really love this story. I feel like the characters are genuine... and I actually LIKE Mai in this. You write a stoic but nevertheless a caring Mai and I can appreciate that!

If you ever feel like writing more of this please please please do it's downright fantastic and I love it so much I haven't found a well written avatar fic with this length chapters for ages and this is a masterpiece seriously well done
