Reviews for The Power He Knows Not
old-crow chapter 27 . 4/26/2017
Hi,

Neville's passing should not be forgotten. I'm glad that you brought the horror of battle and the cost of freedom home to the students. Too many HP tales feel like to old Batman TV series - Bam, Pow, Smash and after the commercial, everyone is better again.

Well told,

Crow

Hi,

I don't know how you've written it, but there's a huge part of me that hopes you're showing us the real Moody and Riddle's using a different player to get to Harry.

"Vous ĂȘtes un morceau de merde"

A better sentence would be "Vous n'ĂȘtes que de la merde."

The expression "piece of" doesn't really work in French.

But also... that doesn't really matter. Loving this take on the saga, keep it up! I apologise for my lack of useful comments, but in any case, this rocks.
Mugglewizard chapter 27 . 12/11/2011
Amazing series. i really love the way it has small twists without the basic plot being vastly different. and the sorcerer bit just caught me offguard. not only is your plot nice your writing and command of the language is quite good. i finished one to four in no time but am hesitant to start 5 until i see it complete. though why did sirius appear as dearborn to tom in the first vision? and who put harrys name in the goblet? do the twins know who the marauders are? and most importantly where is the map?
all forms of fluff chapter 27 . 11/14/2011
The funerial was beautiful Shinysavage, It got me all mistyeyed so koodos to for that. The dueling sceans were fanominol, really brining you into whats happening. I particluarly like that you had Harry using more transfiguing and congering in this 'book' it really sold that it was his specicality. Other then that this book fell a bit flat in the story telling area. I still dont understand why Draco and Harry are friends, and the interactions on large were a bit off. Now while the trials were interesting to see the rest of this story seemed, I dont know empty i guess. For it being so long I thought there would be more charter development, but there wasn't. Yeah they all got more experience, but they would have got that anyway after all its been another year. You didn't really have a bad guy untill the end. Nott wasn't as prickly as in formor books and Snape didn't even make an apperence. And still you have neglected the sword.

There was one part where I thought you let an opertuinity slip by you. Titdus. In the begining he was feral magic, allowing him to drive off Serius untill Hagrid showed up. The shards of Erised gave him intelagence, allowing him to drive out Riddle from Harry's mind. This book you had Harry absorbe large quanties of dragon magic. Granted Titdus was no longer in the cubbered at the time but you still miss an opertuinity to give him, I dont know a monacure of freedome, possiable in the form of the sentient things that Harry Transmutes or Congers. Well it was just something that come to mind as Dumbledor was explaining the nature of Titdus.

Other then those little thigns this story is a blast. I will be Finishing out the seriesrs, well as much as you have written anywhoo. Remember to not take these reviews serisiouly becsue if your having fun... then why change now?

Wow, excellent finish. That's how you do a funeral scene! And Augusta's speech? Just fantastic, really good use of the wrappers.

Also, it was good that you made Harry realize that even though he's got some new power, Voldemort's still a fucking powerhouse and he won't go down like a chump.

There were things I did and didn't like about the graveyard scene. Starting with what I did like, the situation seemed suitably hopeless for Harry, even with his magic-high. I also like that you made Harry lose the contest of wills with Voldemort and get saved by Titus (regarding the name choice, at first I was like, lol fuckin srsly? but now, it's grown on me) once again. The final thing I liked was Harry didn't start destroying Death Eaters left and right with his new found power; he stuck to what he was comfortable with and just sort of blundered his way out, though it was a very skilled blunder.

What I didn't like about the scene was Voldemort completely failed to capitalize on Harry's relative vulnerability during the escape. Yes, there's something to be said for the chaos created at the start, what with the brother wands and Harry animating a small army of statues, but, come on, Voldemort didn't get where he is today by being slow on the uptake. What was he doing when Harry was escaping to Riddle House? Not to mention when Harry got there he got bogged down with Dearborn. I'm sorry but Death Eaters got to Harry before Voldemort? What? And what happened to Voldemort casting faster than the eye can see? Harry can cast a wall of fire and push Caradoc through the floo, then going himself before Voldemort can get off a killing curse? Doubtful.

Looking over that I realize I just sort of semi-ranted and didn't really provide anything constructive, so here's my effort to actually be helpful in some way. I've noticed that you seem to take for granted that we already recognize the setting of most of your big scenes; understandable given it's a fanfiction of a well fleshed out universe, but still. A better setting description and maybe a few lines regarding Harry's terrified/confused/whatever thoughts could go a long way toward establishing a suitable atmosphere for the climax.

However, overall I love your story. The characters are realistic and a joy to read, the plot is good and twisty, and you write a better action scene than most in the fandom can claim while still being able to tug the heartstrings as you proved here.

Excellent story with potential for mass amounts of win in the future, 4.5/5. I haven't read the fifth installment yet but I'm greatly looking forward to it after I've gotten some sleep. Be on the lookout for more scintillating reviews under my oh-so-clever nametag (I'll make an account soon, I swear).

crimson hearts chapter 8 . 2/17/2010
okay so i am getting a little worried. why, well not because the story is lacking in anyway. in fact it is the opposite! i am almost running out of things to read! yes i know i have the rest of this story but what about the next one, and the following 2 other stories. assuming you are going to do all 7. i really hope you are. but i am hoping you will be updating soon and frequently! yes i am so into these stories it is hilarious. and well i even almost cried when i realised that sirius had betrayed the potters! so sad! and i truely hope harry shows him! it feels weird though haveing peter be the good guy and surius the bad one. but hey i'm not complaining, it's still very entertaining!

Rarely, very rarely, do I finish a story and find myself with tears on my cheeks.

This was beautifully written. Thank you for sharing it with us.
