Came back to this story for the first time in years. It's just as wonderful and tragic as I remember. I can't believe I've managed this long without this fic. Thanks for writing it.

God I love this. I love this so much, especially since it's not the kind of horror you'd expect - no blood or gore or guts or supernatural beings (not in this scene, at least); just humans and the monsters staring back from inside the mirror

On another note, I'd really love to translate this into German, if you'd allow me to!

the freaking cookies man

Woah! Mikami wants to ask why "God" is telling him to do this every time Light comes to his place, and he doesn't dare (as his 'faithful' servant). Mikami, being forced to dress up as (someone else), looks at himself in the mirror...and doesn't dwell on it.

In the last scenario, Mikami is looking at L's ghost (symbolically), as he doesn't recognize the figure on the mirror he's looking at. Man, Light is sure missing L in his own way, having Mikami dress up as L to look back at the memories of his arch-enemy whom he had killed.

OOOOOOOOOOOH. Wow. Just...wow. I had to read it twice. This is brilliant, seriously. Wow. So much said in such a small fic. Wow.

I also didn't understand it until I read the reviews. (Other people are so much better at figuring things out than I am).

I love the last line, particularly, but this whole thing just makes my heart hurt. It's DEEP.

Interesting idea... creapy. Once I got to the end, I was like, wait, bags under eyes, MUST BE L! Lol. Then I read back and noticed the way he dressed and the cookies...

Okay so I didn't get this at first and had to reread a few more times for me to understand. But according to my understanding, Light is making Mikami look like L? Am I wrong? Anyways, good work author!

Why? Why, Light, whyyyy? I quit the entire series when you killed L and ruined everything!

I don't know who's more twisted. Light for not being able to let go of the idea of L, or Mikami for being so eager to please that he accepts everything so blindly. I love the dark twist of this story!
