Turrasta chapter 1 . 11/13/2010 Kalonaar (since you've disable PM) You reviewd a story that's been dead for ages just to say that? Here's something I said at the bottom of that particular chapter: Also, nobody try and correct me about the M1 Garand cartridge by saying that it fired 7.62x51mm NATO rounds. The US Navy and commercially sold versions fired the NATO rounds, but the US Army version fired .30-06 Springfield cartridges. AFTER NATO was founded (4th April, 1949), the M1 (Naval and commercial) started using the 7.62mmx51mm NATO rounds to modernize the rifle and increase performance. BEFORE that, it fired ONLY .30-06 Springfield (7.62mmx63mm). And the comment about the rifle being phased out after Korea is not completely true and has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on a story set in WW2. The rifle in question is still in use even now for US military training and parades, so it's not entirely phased out. Wikipedia. Use it, before wasting my time. |
Arthorius chapter 2 . 11/13/2010 World War 2 M1 Garand Rifles used the .30-06 rounds. The M1 was not design for the NATO Rounds. The M1 Garand was phased out of service after the Korean War. |
shadowolf93 chapter 2 . 3/10/2010 great story. however a cupple of your facts are incorect it't the M4 not M2 sherman also it has a 75mm cannon not 40mm quit a big diference. over all you have a vary intresting concept |

aznblackhowling chapter 2 . 10/27/2009 Interesting story. I look forward to an update to this story and your Otherworld story as well. I hope you will be able to update soon again. |
kendog52361 chapter 2 . 6/27/2009 Great story and interesting concept. I can't wait for more. One historical point, I did notice that you said not to say they were using 7.62 NATO, but then it appeared that you said the US Navy and civilians were using it. That is not accurate. 7.62 NATO didn't come into service until NATO was formed after WW2. The main and only rifle that was issued to US General Forces in 7.62 until the 5.56 NATO round was the M14. In WW2, the 30.-06 was good enough for the entire war. A webpage about it is en./wiki/7.62x51mm_NATO I am not trying to nitpick you at all. To be honest, I hate stories that are nitpicked by readers, the nitpicking, not the story itself. Keep up the great work. Kendog52361 |
