While the writing quality of your story is good in terms of spelling and grammar in the chapters before this one, please note this part of the Content Guidelines:

Put the announcement in your profile or in your most recently uploaded chapter in any of your stories as an author's note. Don't disturb the story section with a story that has nothing but non-story related material.

Well, I liked this version while it lasted. Yes there were errors but it was fun as well as thought out!

I've been waiting for an update for AGES so... yeah. Hope that the rewrite is stuff as good plot wise as this. ] x

interesting story so far

I should start by admitting that I only read through chapter nine.

I have some harsh criticisms, but I don't want to beat you down or discourage you as a writer. To make this story work, I think you're going to have to starter over again and treat what you've written as simply a draft.

The Jocelyn character does not really feel believable. The attempt at a sassy attitude just makes her seem like a idiot and an asshole, and the vulgarities she constantly throws around within range of Harry's ears unsettles me. Her apparent wealth and success (especially coupled with her juvenile attitude) is also difficult to accept. She is a textbook Mary-Sue. It feels as if this is the girl you (the author) wish you were, and self-inserts rarely make for strong characters.

You don't have to through out the idea of Harry having an Aunt from one of his grandparents previous indiscretions. However, you should take away her wealth. If you want her to be able to provide for Harry, make her solidly middle class, not driving around in a Ferrari. If you want her throwing around "shits" and "fucks" where Harry can hear, have her be a bit of a hippy herself.

Lily was born in 1960, so a half-sister born in 1950 to her teen parents is perfectly believable. This would have Jocelyn coming of age just as the swing sixties really started swinging.

Anyways, there are a lot of ways that you would make Jocelyn work as a character, but she really needs to be reworked first.

I would get rid of the letter from Death entirely and find a new way for Harry and Jocelyn to connect. Perhaps Albus listens to Minerva in the beginning, and doesn't send Harry to the Dursley's at all. Instead, Jocelyn find a nephew she never knew about next to the morning milk...

Anyways, you can make it work, but you've got to scrap a lot of what is there.
