That was adorable. And I loved the "once a pipsqueak, always a pipsqueak" line.

I almost can't decide if Ed was in character or not. They both seemed a little bit more touchy-feely (god, I hate that term) than normal at the beginning, and he was much more open about his feelings than I've come to expect of him. But then I decided that it was so cute I didn't really care. Your dialogue was the perfect blend of sweet and funny, and their interactions were—to reuse a word—adorable.
