I like this one shot. Out of character for Rory, but it works. She needed something to make her stop and give in to her feelings rather than pushing them aside with logic. Paris and Jess were a nice team to help her out. Convenient that Lorelai and Luke were both out of town allowing for the opportunity to do this.

I love this piece. I read it for the first time like, a week ago? And I've reread it a couple of times since then and it really is just lovely. Jess taking care of Rory is super adorable and I love that he knows how to calmly handle a drunk person: clean up their puke, wash their hair, come up with contingency plans with their phone so their boyfriend or mom won't find out.

You know what really makes me love you, though? Like, freakish amounts of love? This bit:

“Hey!” Jess warned. “She hasn't done anything to you, so you should at least respect her.”

F YES. Poor Shane. And it makes me feel warm inside that anyone would tell Rory to shut her face for insulting Shane just because she's with Jess, especially if the person telling her off is Jess.

Other line that fills me with glee:

He wanted to disappear from wherever she wished to be, because he didn't know how to be her choice.

So you're just...wonderful. This is the reason I come back here every so often, for stories like this. Genuinely good writers who stay true to the characters and also...you know...having Jess in there doesn't hurt. Seriously, fantastic. And BRILLIANT quote from Kerouac, I'll never watch the reruns again without thinking of it.

I really liked it! Its a little hard to picture Rory drinking so much. I mean, i saw the episode where she and Paris got drunk of their asses, and she ended up crying on the bathroom floor about how Logan doesn't like her, but still. It doesn't sound like Rory. But its not my story, and i like it anyway. Great job!
