Whoaoaoaiaia im actually crying so much this is suck a good story I know Its like 2019 but oh well I don’t care the writing is phenomenal and the storyline is so heartfelt and indulging I honestly commend you for this I can’t even express how good this is ahhhhh

Wow, hasn't it been a while since you even wrote this? It's indeed possible you won't pay attention to this review whatsoever, but does that little fact make me shut up about what I have to say? Not in the least. Here goes.

I stumbled upon this story after being hit by a wave of nostalgia and sudden taste for returning to one of my childhood obsessions. (And even though the movies were predictable and cliche, sometimes you need a healthy dose of cheesy. No harm done, so what?) Your story kept me up until unreasonable hours, and that's saying something, since I, as much of a hopeless dorky fangirl I am, happen to be extremely picky about what I read. (No offense to CR writers on this site - considering the target audience of this flick, beginner mistakes are to be expected. I was the same.) For being sixteen, writing like this is seriously amazing. Heck, I fancy myself a writer, and I wouldn't pull this off. I'm definitely going to read the rewritten version, once I can afford spending some hours on it.

You managed to keep a nice balance between cute fairytale feel of the movie and somewhat more realistic development. Mitchie's biting sarcasm and banter thru texts had me laughing out loud, you really captured the nature of their relationship well. I liked it even more than their slow realization of their feelings for one another. In ideal situation, the sparks between them would have more time to build up, but I'm not complaining. Having a connection with someone right away is a thing not exclusive to movies. I really liked their hesitancy about it - both of them knowing it would be too soon, but not being able to help themselves at the same time. Another thing I appreciate is how through his POV, we could really see what makes Shane tick, and also that you didn't choose the laziest way for justifying his jerkiness (abusive home).

Things that didn't make me as happy, but I can't really blame you for them:
The stereotypical girl hate. Either from queen bees at school (it happens, but it's such an overplayed move) or a vapid pop star (what's the deal with evil conceited blondes, anyway? Sure, the movie went there, too, but if anyone made a drinking game out of it, bye-bye, my liver).
I couldn't help but feel disappointed you chose to go with the most cliche twist just for the sake of drama. I also though it was rather OOC of Mitchie to process the situation the way she did. Until then, except for internal insecurity moments, she showed no signs of being thrown off by the publicity. This isn't me trying to be condescending or smartass, and if it comes off like it, I apologize, but I think I would have preferred the realization to hit her later. (Say that she and Shane would start something - and this isn't a shameless shipper speaking, trust me - and dealing with paparazzi, rumors, moments when Shane still acts like a jerk without realizing it, you could even include Summer and others like her wanting to get to Shane. That would serve as enough buildup for Mitchie to see she can't deal with that part of dating him yet. Obviously, it would make the "what if" moments of the sequel impossible, not to mention other differences, but that's just my humble, probably flawed, opinion. ) You'd still have space to finish the way you did - which made me sad, not gonna lie, but it was one of most mature, bittersweet endings I've read in a fan story.

It would make complete sense for you to move on and not pay attention to some ramblings of a guest review, but I hope you haven't stopped writing. You have a knack for lighthearted and relatable situations, as well as showing connections between the characters. Whatever you're up to now, I'm sure you improved a lot and wouldn't hesitate to read it, as long as I was familiar with the fandom. Have a good day :)

Okay, so I've read this entire story and am going on to the sequel after I post this review. 1. I LOVE THIS STORY SO MUCH! LIKE I CAN"T EVEN EXPLAIN THE AMOUNT OF LOVE FOR IT. 2. It was so funny. I was like crying from laughing so hard. Plus it didn't help that I was like hiding the laughter at points because my roommate would think I am absolutely crazy from laughing so hard. 3. I am from Massachusetts so when it was first mentioned I sorta freaked out a little like OH MY GOD it takes place in MA, when like NO ONE ever does something taking place in MA. So seeing that it did, I definitely freaked out. 4. This was awesome and the fact that they met through how she hated them, but forced to their concert, was heard screaming like a fangirl even though she was only being sarcastic but was heard, then he somehow found his way to her house not even planning on that, hears her singing, then talks to her and then she falls off a roof and then he does the same thing in the end was very cool, and the swing thing and the love of fall, that was such an awesome part and everything about this story was absolutely amazing and I can't even describe my love for it anymore because then I would end up in a rant and running out of room and would need more space to talk about my love for it which I wouldn't have room for so I am going to stop now and just go on and continue to the sequel! Okay I am going to shut up now. BYE!
