Aww Ed is a baby

I love little Ed stories
Guest chapter 32 . 5/15/2019
Okay, since this is a bunch of disconnected one-shots, I just picked a random chapter, and by chance I landed on this emotional roller coaster of a chapter. I've read this twice, and this review is of my thoughts the first time around :L

"Was he regressing? Was it getting out of his hands? Hohenheim didn't want to send his son away to some place with white halls and cold, blank-faced doctors who prescribed tranquilizers and electrotherapy and who knew what else. His place was here."
Oof... Don't you dare send Ed to an asylum, Hoho!

"Was Little as he wished to think his only son was going mad, he could see little other explanation for these actions."
Only son? What about Al?

"A bright green T-shirt emblazoned with 'Vertically Challenged' had been stuffed into the hinge of the door like a doorstop. Hohenheim remembered how his son had chased Winry Rockbell around after she had given it to him for his last birthday, four months ago."
OH MY GOD I'M LAUGHING SO HARD I CAN BARLEY BREATHE! I'd pay to see that! xD

"But now his son was silent; he hadn't spoken a word since that horrible day three months ago, when his final scream had seemed to silence him forever."
Oof what happened...? Do I even want to know...? :C

"That boy was dead, swallowed by the disaster, the tragedy."
Something horrible happened to Al... I know it.

"When Hohenheim picked it up to get a better look, he saw the name on the tag: Alphonse.

Hohenheim's breath caught in his chest and warm tears smarted against his eyes."
Yup, Al's probably dead...

"He had hardly gotten to know his younger son again, when he was snatched away forever."
Al is dead and I wanna go cry my little eyes out... :'(

"The loss of his younger son was like a knife in his chest, but he knew it was ten times worse for his older son."
No $#*&, those boys are as close as brothers can be...

"Hohenheim skidded to a halt under the tree and stared up at the thing dangling from the tree, his heart thudding with…relief. An alchemized dummy of a human body swung gently in the wind, hanging from a stout branch with a noose made from scraps of cloth that Hohenheim suspected came from the ripped-up shreds of shirts."
HOLY FREAKING CRAP EDWARD ELRIC WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU SCARE YOUR DAD (And me!) LIKE THAT?!

"His chest was bare to the world, and Hohenheim winced inwardly to see the numerous scars littering his son's – his baby's – chest."
Please tell me those scars aren't self-inflicted...

"Before Hohenheim had left, his sons had called him 'Papa.' The mature Alphonse had called him 'Dad,' and the rather immature Edward had kept it at 'hey you.'"
This is serious and all, but I couldn't help 'Aww'ing at the bit about little Ed and Al -

"Edward lifted his arms, like a toddler begging to be picked up, and revealed the insides of his arms. Hohenheim's breath caught again, and he found a sob escaping his mouth as he saw a dozen old scars crisscrossing Edward's left arm. Scars that had not been there three months ago. Hohenheim sank to his knees next to his son. He couldn't seem to take his eyes off those ugly red marks made by his very own razor blade."
NO NO NO NO NO EDWARD HOLY CRAP I HAD TO PUT MY PHONE ASIDE AND JUST C-R-Y
ED W-H-Y ? !

"Edward looked up at him, asking, pleading, begging. "Help me.""
*Crying* Oh god... *Cries some more*

Almost made a comment about the whole Kimblee thing, then checked the release dates and was like "oh, right. that was in Brotherhood. Whoops."

Guest chapter 9 . 12/15/2018
Oh my gosh, this is so beautiful T_T Al's part nearly made me cry because I thought about my own older sister, now so far away from me, and I realized how muvch I miss her. What he says about being a younger sibling is so true 3 Ed's part is also nice, very heart-warming.
Sobbs chapter 48 . 2/6/2018

Artemis291 chapter 1 . 2/1/2018
This is amazing.
Guest chapter 2 . 3/18/2017
I...didn't pay much attention to what the prompt was when I started reading. So the last sentence ripped through /me/ like a gunshot. Ow. Ow...ow.

This is really good, though. I love your descriptions of Alphonse as child, and how you touch on his determination to be cheerful even while in the suit of armor. The build up and the ending are /very/ effective. (Too effective, I say, as I continue clutching my chest in pain.)
Throw an Inkpot chapter 3 . 3/18/2017
This is the second time you've shot one of the boys...whyyyyyy...

The metaphor works well, I think. I didn't catch it at first, but when I reread I felt like face-palming because it was clear as day. (Also, hi, I've been leaving a few guest reviews on your various works as I'm slowly working my way through the treasure trove of your FMA fan fiction. I only just now remembered that I do in fact have an account here. Haha.)
we.can.fly.away.to.Gallifrey chapter 91 . 7/30/2016
This theme (kiss) really got to me. The way you have written it is absolutely beautiful and heart warming...it makes me want to be Alphonse so I can have such an understanding, amazing, awesome elder brother.
