Reviews for Saving Me: Part One, The Fellowship of the Ring
FateOfChaos chapter 7 . 9/4/2018
This story is beautiful. I know it’s been almost ten years since you’ve updated it, but the quality of your work has left me speechless. If I didn’t know better, I’d say I was reading Tolkien’s work, but alas that wouldn’t be possible. While this story may lay unfinished, I will still count it among my favorites. It deserves to be read and reread, because it’s such an amazing story.
exactly13percent chapter 7 . 3/31/2013
So beautiful...I really love the way you've portrayed their relationship. Keep going!
Iva1201 chapter 4 . 2/15/2013
This is really a nice piece. I have reread a portion of it now and I am again impressed.
Charlotte Dacre chapter 7 . 10/4/2010
I'm speechless. If I didn't know for sure that Tolkien wasn't into slash, I would swear that these were the passages from the books. Your writing is simply splendid, Boromir and Legolas both in character, their developing relationship described tastefully and plausibly. Any chance of seeing this gem of a tale continued?
Iva1201 chapter 6 . 7/27/2010
Have just reread a portion of this fic of yours - and want to tell you once more that its nicely done. I dont mind you might update this in a very far future - but if it would be finished one day, I shall definitely like to read the next chapters.
Boromir's fan chapter 7 . 5/14/2010
Oh, this is the end already? Sad here, I would have loved to read on (and on). But once more a great piece, especially because of them both speaking so openly to each other. One hopes that Boromir would understand, would remember that Legolas is willing to listen to him. I wish with all my heart that Boromir would win against the Ring, before it is too late. And more importantly even, I would love to see him coming back to Minas Tirith, meeting Faramir for the first time and greeting him in Elven language - poor boy might think he doesn't hear correctly. Mischivious grin here.
Boromir's fan chapter 6 . 5/14/2010
Yep, Boromir, please, learn some of the language finally! I liked very much how you explained the differences between the various Elves' groups here, again a great detail that makes the story so much better.
Boromir's fan chapter 5 . 5/14/2010
This was actually sort of funny - despite the serious situation. Boromir coming to the idea Legolas is a child/teenager and should have been better left behind, in a safe place. I wonder what Faramir would have told him if he insisted also in his place that he should stay at home while Minas Tirith and Gondor are in danger. But next to being simply enjoyable, this was once more very touching and realistic too - thank you for the many little details you wave into the story. It makes it more interesting still.
Boromir's fan chapter 4 . 5/14/2010
I liked the paralels between the two families very, very much. Many thanks for that - as well as their slowly growing friendship. It's very realistic, unless you have been told already - not like many other stories out here that are simply too rushed.
Boromir's fan chapter 3 . 5/14/2010
Nice - probably the very first fic where Boromir optes to learn the Elven language. (-: And no, I don't mind that I don't understand what Legolas is saying for the moment - it makes me feel what Boromir might and that's great accomplishment, my dear author.
Boromir's fan chapter 2 . 5/14/2010
Good writting once again, great to see those two speaking of their situation more. But somehow Boromir seems too proud to listen - although, I understand him, I too would be pretty unwilling to even consider that I might fall prey to something I don't believe to be evil. Let us hope that Legolas can make the man of Gondor see.
Boromir's fan chapter 1 . 5/14/2010
Excellent start. Good to see these two interact before it is too late. I mean there are some other non-slash fics (well, I am one of those enjoying those slash free better, thanks for the note on your profile page concerning this story!) where Legolas too tries to confront Boromir - but usually when Boromir already is too far in it. Great to find a story where things may still "improve" on time.

Canon death warning however - you don't mean Boromir, do you? I was kind of hoping he might survive this. But well, I suppose I will find out in the next chapters.
Iva1201 chapter 7 . 4/12/2010
Nicely done. I would love you to go on - now comes after all the most important part. (-:
MetallicCountess chapter 7 . 1/29/2010
Loved every word! Great writing, and wonderful story. Couldnt ask for more in a fic!
Sameera77 chapter 7 . 5/1/2009
I enjoy reading your story. I like stories focusing on Boromir as he is my favourite hero in LotR. There is something about his vulnerability that appeal to me. Or maybe I like fallen heroes with weaknesses more than ideal beings.

I like the way you presented the development of the friendship between a man and an elf. It was convincing, your characters differ much from Tolkien's version, but I found these changes refreshing.

I hope you will return to this story and upload an update of this story. Please let us know how Boromir's Elvish lesson progress.:) Take care;)
