Ah, very well written. I liked how it ended too. It leaves that thing of Itachi destroyed a clan. Sasuke could possibly destroy a village. It gives off a creepy and cold vibe. Of the 'what if' factor.

I liked your interpretation on the dynamic between Kakashi and Itachi-I wonder what his relationship with the rest of the clan was like after he gained the sharingan. (The elders couldn't have been happy about that.) Do you think he ever compared Kobito and Sasuke in the privacy of his own mind? And does that also have something to do with his focus on the Sasuke? Obviously he was toting around a lot of guilt . . .

Anyway, I never would have thought to put Kakashi at the scene of the Uchiha massacre.
