Aww... That did a number on my heartstrings. Love this one. Great job.
Ell Bee Someone Else Now chapter 1 . 7/1/2010
How very lovely. Using quotidian language, and two non-human beings, the author embarks upon a totally successful meditation on identity, self, and love. Slash? Yes. So what; in the face of this story's emphasis on, and celebration of, personhood, slash is hardly an adequate adjective to describe Omega's discoveries, or Skyfire's gift.

Unexpectedly sweet, even despite my lack of knowledge about Omega Supreme. An impressive and creative effort. Thanks for sharing!
Dragon of Dispair chapter 1 . 9/22/2008
saw this in my inbox last night. was way to tired to read and review. so...

first: squee!

second: as promised - you are now an official hero for writing omega supreme/skyfire.

now for an actual review:

it was both interesting and heartbreaking reading how omega didn't think he was a sentient transformer. interesting because it's not a concept that i see very often from a bot's side. i've seen some really good fics (esp in movieverse) that goes into the "what makes them sentient?" question on the humans' side, but rarely one where it came up as a question on the bots' side of it.

heartbreaking because it was obvious (at least to me) from the very first paragraph that omega wasn't a drone despite what he was saying in his narration. the question of whether the constructicons are six, seven or a single entity is a complex philosophical question that a being defined entirely by its programming, a drone, wouldn't even be capable of considering. plus his reason for pursuing them in the first place is a sense of betrayal, which is an emotion that requires a sense of self to be betrayed. a drone would have just continued to guard the ruins of the crystal city forever or until he was destroyed.

thus by then end of the second paragraph when omega's narration explained how he thought of himself i was asking why he was thinking of himself like that and what happened to make him forget his own spark. i'm glad skyfire went and found the answers to that.

on skyfire's side - how utterly *frustrating* it must be to try and court a being that thinks it's a drone. poor guy.

i liked that the distinction between formal and informal in cybertronian was brought up again when skyfire was asking omega if he could call him by a nickname.

all in all. it was very interesting and very well written. i loved their interactions and look forward to more on these two.
