Indus Belethil chapter 3 . 10/20/2008 It's my usual response to review after every chapter, but I really wanted to continue reading... so I hope you'll forgive me that. I think the most intriguing thing you've done here is the actual format of the story. The sort of flip-flop through time could be rather confusing, but you've made it integral to the framework. Not only do we get the flashback foundation of Indy and Marion's relational roots, but we are able to see almost immediately what the far-reaching consequences are. The way that you've married the two, it's actually hard to lose the details across a 10-year gap, keeping everything fresh in our memories. Very well done. The way you've handled the characters is delectable. Sincerely, -Indus Belethil- |

hansolofan chapter 2 . 9/18/2008 wow I just realized there was another chapter, and almost jumped for joy! I think you have a very rare gift in writing: to make connections here and there with things we're familar with, expanding on what we know about the characters (abner, especially, I love your portrayal of him), and just...making everything seem in character. yep. i liked the development in this chapter, especially the last bit with abner and marion-some great dialogue there. and your format sounds very promising! hope to hear more from you soon. |
hansolofan chapter 1 . 9/18/2008 rather good, i liked the idea of her going to the doctor the same day indy left, makes it kind of ironic. and from here we can really see how she got her conviction in being a good mother, living well without him: as shown by that line in kotcs, what was it? something about living a good life...yeah you know what I mean. I absolutely adored these lines: 'Having had her share of adventures with Indiana, she knew there always was a possibility of danger where their lives were concerned. Walking by the kitchen counter caused a piece of paper to flutter to the ground and, immediately, Marion bent to retrieve it. She read the note he left, and suddenly she was that little girl again, abandoned by her mother.' it conveyed her emotions well without resorting to flowery descriptions and whatnot, made a brilliantly lasting impression on me. all in all, a good try, do keep on writing! |
Battered notebook of stories chapter 1 . 9/17/2008 Nicely done! I hope to see more from you! |
