Omigosh! What a ride. Shikamaru's journey in discovering his love for Ino was intense and exciting to the very end.

I love reading the parallel of his desire to kiss her to the disappointment of reality, then meshing this all up and coming to the conclusion that he is Shikamaru and she is Ino and they are both stupid. Oh man, that was a very good quote and the best description of them both. And it made sense that Shikamaru could read her clearly after all this was cleared, he was just stupid before ;D.

I also like how you added the appearance of their friends; it made this all more amusing and their interactions just warms me in how they are all so close and definitely got each other's back. And that conversation with Shikamaru had with Sakura in coming to 'the conclusion', discussing variables and whatnot, leave it to these two to make even love about science.

But what I especially like is the very on-point (at least for me) their characterisation was. Shikamaru with all of his troublesome comments and Ino, being the stubborn but loving kunoichi that she is, just complement each other nicely in here. Their small interactions and the ending, its just a treat to read something so good like this. I just find myself going all gooey throughout the chapters and I'll admit, I've read this far too many times and it will never get me enough.

this doesn't make sense in your story because after her date with Nagi she's sitting on the curb and they both admit she could never love a traitor. Unless this is before he leaves... Ino isn't ditsy

my anxiety was through the roof for Shikamaru when he realized he had brought her to his appartment! in the state of mind he was in, that was bound to get him to doing somehting he migh thave regretted later. BUT LMAO I laughed so much when he correted himself saying that INO INVITED HERSELF, HOW INO OF HER.

But I do think they had more in common before as well, I mean they grew up together, though I think they grew apart in their academy days but I have head canon that she treated him differently when they'd have familiy dinners during that time and that's when inoshikacho would bond and talk about life and share their dreams, but of course that was childhood. After on a team together I think their bond was inseparable but that they'd have forgotten about what they had in common or the dreams they shared and had because their job would take up all of their time, even when all three of them were together, there wasn't much time to actually be chhildren together. So I guess in a way, it was right of Shikamaru to completely forget who ino was outside of his team mate

I feel like this is the chapter where Ino got some clue that maybe, just maybe her team mate isnt' as oblivous to her as she thinks. I have a feeling that as she sat their on the curb she must have been thinking about him and then he magically appeared to her side and sat down and her heart must have been so surprised at him appearing from her thoughts, to physically manifest. Which is why she must have learned towaards him and held his gaze. And i don;t know see, some thing mirror off of it. Some semblance of what she felt. Which is why she probably kissed him on the cheek later.

this one didn't do it as much for me mostly because I think Choji and him would have a little more heart to heart on the matter and that choji would provide him good insight instead of letting him go on his day dreams

I think I might have read this before at some point but I honestly don't care this is the best thing in the world. I always love fics where Shikamaru comes to this realization first followed by his tragic POV of just being an absolute obvious FOOL for the girl and literally eveyrone knows except the girl herself

OKAYY this is one of my biggest head canon that one day on a literal random day it would absolutely smack Shikamaru in the face, what would? the fact that he is attracted to INo and he would try to reason and logic with it much in the same way he was doing right now but that it would run for so much longer because that realization had hit him so freaking hard.

And ooof it hurt when you described how it dawned on him that Ino never felt sexual around him or ever tried to seduce him that she was so normal and herself around him- that was such a good thing to make him reflect on it.

I would just have made Naruto fawn over her a little to make Shikamru a little more jealous and have him gawk at NARUTO of all people, think ino looked a certain way

Only fanfiction made me realize that there could be such things as Seduction mission and that Ino would probably be on the frontline of them all because of her unique set of family skills. And it would most definitely make the boys in her life feel some sort of way, because bossy as she may be, her boys (Choji, Shikamaru and Asuma and her dad ) would be fiercely protective of her and would be seething with the idea of her having to deal with and take on so much but they would all be soldiers at the end of the day and would do nothing but swallow whatever they were feelking and hope she would make it back. All the while being so torn up on the inside. MAN

You're doing a fantastic job! I just dislike how Shika is always being sent to Suna in many of the stories that I read haha. Oh well. As long they don't get attached.

7 years later, but here I am! I'll never give up on ShikaIno.
