I love this Itachi so much! I very much agree that this is what Itachi would have been like in a non-mass situation.

I just love this! You are so gifted in showing Itachi's true character (well, what I imagine his character is)...

I can see the Itachi of this verse acting in this awkward way, where the only knowledge he lacks is of the emotional/social kind, given that that's what he lacks the most practice in. Sakura is the barreling type, though, lol. Kudos~

Dear author, what a sweet and poignant ending to this introductory story. I greatly appreciated your notes as well; it makes perfect sense and I absolutely adore how Itachi was written. Of course he struggles with social interaction - if without the massacre, he had a very unorthodox childhood! I loved the fact that Sakura was attracted to him because of a glimpse she saw of his human side - something so few people see because he is so imposing. This was a joy to read, and I can't wait to see where you take this adorable duo in the next story!

dear author, I can't believe I read through just a single chapter. There was so much happening, and my head is reeling in the best way possible. "Naruto was not available for comment." Yeah, that was me. This chapter started with a BANG, I wondered how the rest of it would flow after that momentous opening scene - but hot damn the rest of it was just as compelling. I absolutely loved the way you wrote Itachi and Sakura here; there is such a precarious balance in their interactions with one another but the dynamic just works so perfectly. Thank you so much for writing and sharing this incredible first chapter with us!

This is my favorite Itachi

Very interesting, I like this version of Itachi. Difficult to read, but interesting! Still, I do not envy Sakura, at all. Having a relationship with such a closed off person is no walk in the park, will never be. Fanfic being fanfic, I imagine he will grow into his emotions, but... I think he will never be able to carry the emotional aspect of any relationship. His EQ is not high enough for that, nor will it be.

I really really like this fic I find myself going back and reading it every time I'm looking for a good read I wish u would make it into a story the plot is amazing and the closest to the real itachi that I have ever read

this fic hit way too close to home, ive been in this exact same fucking scenario and eventually had to back off like sakura in the exact same fucking way (he wasnt hurt i just could tell that there was nothing) safe to say i cried first chapter so thank you! for making me feel emotion i love this fic a lot,, also ive been reading every itasaku fic youve written since 2007 and i have to say , thank you, 10 years later thAnK you , so much
