Oh my gosh I love this story so much! Everything about it is great. Your characterization, the world, the plot, everything! I'd say your writing skill is strong. It conveys exactly what it needs to without having to include excessive detail. There's a nice balance between being a retelling and a new story that happens to work excellently here. Your pacing is good and nothing feels like it's been skimmed over or rushed through. It's a fantastic story and you've clearly put lots of work and thought into it. I enjoyed every word of it!

I just want to leave a comment here in case you still read reviews. I figured it may boost your inspiration and motivate yourself to write again. Besides... THIS THE BEST AU CANON DIVERGENCE I HAD EVER SEEN IN ANY FANDOM I'VE BEEN TO. The canon in my head felt a bit stilted in a very good way, I kind of wished for it to be the canon instead. At first I was a bit off about Jeff having some strong attitude unlike what most portray him as a very timid and shy boy, but that's what made things even good!

Yeah. Life happens. Though I'm young(17) I pretty much understand that concept. Though you may not continue this fic anymore, I'd still wanted to say thank you for the past days of my life good. It got to the point that I get excited to get home just to read another chapter and even daydream the events while in school(yeah that bad). Now that I see that it has been a year since it was updated, it kind of makes me sad. "Where would this fic be updated again? Would it be ever touched again?" I thought to myself. But to see the note you wrote, I thought that it doesn't matter anymore, people do change drastically in a long span of time but I think of yours as a good way.

I wish I could write good 1st person as you do, it has a lot of stigma in most fandoms but they don't know much how could it produce more emotional effect to the readers.

I wish you would cross-post this in ao3, I'd like to backtrack to some events by the key words I remembered and ctrl-f them all the way in the read whole thingy feature in it. Also, this is ghefirst 300k word fic I've read and I didn't regretted any second from doing it so(yay me). Hurray for you also.

I was so happy to hear you updated this story. Your writing has totally been an inspiration to me for years. I know I’ve said this before, but it deserves mentioning again!

So finally we’re in the Deep Darkness. You haven’t lost your eye for detail, describing everything that Jeff is going through, witnessing, and dealing with all seamlessly together. There were incredibly cute moments between Jeff and Ness. After the last chapter where not a lot of contact happened it seemed they both had some pent up anxiety which made for just the right kind of awkwardness between them.

Pancake Syrup Ingredients… I swear I was getting excited right along with Jeff as he was figuring it out. Inventions that utilize PSI power, it really was a brilliant moment that you could just feel Jeff’s world expanding around him. Suddenly anything was possible and it just felt like he gained this huge grasp on the world and is going to be absolutely incredible for it.

The moment Jeff shared with Ness where they put their heads together somehow felt extremely intimate. I mean, physically it was a simple gesture. Inside though it felt like so much was going on, they were sharing an experience that seemed to really connect them. So much so that even when they separated that Jeff couldn’t help but press his lips to Ness and solidify the connection. I thought it was an incredible moment.

I was happy to have Kato back too. Somehow the way he was described when he appeared immediately made me think of Zuko from Avatar The Last Airbender. Having him rock PK Starstorm while Jeff blasted at Master Belch with a Bazooka was really badass; even if Jeff was riding piggyback at the time.

I’m left in awe once again. Your depiction of this world is absolutely brilliant and I applaud you. I do hope to see more, but I also understand what life is like. Keep following your dreams and be awesome!

OMG YOU UPDATED... I'M GONNA DIE... You literally broke the record of a fic I've seen being updated. The previous record was 4 years. I was afraid it was gonna be another goodbye note like I've seen recently with some other fics but thank goodness. Whether or not you thought some parts of the story was silly, I loved all of it! And it's forever changed how I think of Jeff's character. I like his coolness! Many hugs, I hope life pulls together better.

I just wanted to say something. I don't think you'll ever bother to read this, but hear goes.
I really really REALLY want you to continue this story. I don't know what happened that made you not continue it, but for the past three years I've been dying to know what happens!
What does Ness do when he finds out that Jeff has Pokey's diary?
What exactly did Pokey do to Ness?
How will all of this affect Ness and Jeff's relationship?
Are Ness and Jeff in love?
All these questions that have been swimming through my head left unanswered. It's upsetting. Please, if you read this, PLEASE finish this! It's a work of art! And I know it can almost get finished. Only three more sanctuaries to go! I'm dying to know what happens next!

It's 3 am and I just spent a hour and a half reading this absolutely amazing story full of good character building strong plot development and had a all around good time eagerly I read on until I hit the last chapter and feel like crying the story has not been updated since 2011 (crying internally so as not to wake my wife up)
