At that time, he really was pushed into a corner wasn't he? To have to resort to such a desperate plan. You keep his thoughts nicely balanced between exhaustion / nagging insecurity and his usual narcissistic assuredness.

I like this. Great insight into Light's thoughts there - I'm also curious to see the change once he forgets about the note!
