OMG Malty! I totally forgot to review this and it's been ages, lol. But I enjoyed this chapter, and I would love to see more of Chas ('Chas'?) and John. Also, the book issue in the previous chapter is giving me angst now. Did Chas know what he was trying to give John? Do I make any sense? I dunno. But anyway, I loved the lines about the holy things, and also the musings about the ocean. More please!

Loved this. It has been awhile since your last update, but I still remember most of the story you wrote. I'll have to go back from the beginning though to refresher my memory on some bits, but its so amazing to see you put up another chapter. I hope to see more whenever you put them up.

*screeches* YES! I can't believe you posted another chapter! I'm so happy! I've been waiting a long time for this story to be updated. When I saw the mail, I thought: "This is it. Here comes the A/N saying this is a dead fic." I'm so glad that wasn't the case.

That was out of the blue indeed, I never hoped to see a new chapter of this fic when I found it some time ago but lo and behold a new chapter is born! ;) thanks for that, this fic has potential ( or more like its a worthy addition to the Constantine fandom ). Lo cheers.

Yay, an update! :D Loving the "Don't be weird, Chas," and the darkness of this whole situation. The dead thing wearing Chas' face is just, ugh... horrific. The more I thought about it the more it disturbed me, and now I'm just sitting here all creeped out and wondering where this is going to go. :) Need more please! :D

Interesting issue with Midnite - I kinda think he's trolling Constantine just to teach him a lesson, hahaha.

Yay, you updated! Huzzah! *does drunken happy dance* I love Midnite in this chapter, how he's polite and unkind and implacable. I love how it's nothing personal, but that's cold comfort. And 'I can't let you have them' and Chas right in front of John and... I demand you update this again soon! Don't leave me hanging here! :D

Hello Malty! It's awesome to see an update! (Also, you have anonymous reviews disabled; not sure if that's on purpose, but anyway...)

The depiction of Midnite's office is great; I love that the wall paint provides a contrast to the metaphorical 'chill' of the place, and it ties in nicely with a line about Midnite himself.

The interplay between John and Chas is well done (the sideways glances) and Midnite and John's respective 'specialties' gave me a laugh. Midnite, John, and Chas are all portrayed awesomely. As their conversation (and Chas' thoughts) seem to go around in a circle, or spiral, it's easy to see the subtle yet intense powerplay going on here.

And this line: Who are you to say what he is when you don't even know what he was? is just so effing perfect, it shows the relationship between John and Chas, and what John thinks about Chas, so nicely. What has happened to them is tragic, and maybe more so than they realize.

So, update soon, please! Don't leave me hangin' here, lol. And self-torture is not allowed. All of this is working out for me, haha, but I do especially like to see John and Chas' interactions (but you knew that already). :D
