Why doesn't Minato just use Hiraishin to send Kyuubi to a different dimension? The theory of Hiraishin is that the users chakra basically lights up a map of Hiraishin seals, so why doesn't he just open up a portal and not open an exit? That would trap Kyuubi because even the great Kyuubi no Kitsune can't go against the Space-Time Continuum.
