I’m not giving up on you, this story is amazing and so well written and I really want to see Alex show up the rest of his classmates and find out why they were taken hostage.

I like the first bit of the camp. It's realistic. 'Keep out of our way and just do stuff' kind of fits the bill (especially for the first few days) as opposed to 'Oh look, here are kids. Let us traumatise them and kill their muscles with advanced fighting techniques.' I can swallow the fact that, after the first couple of days, they might start doing more physical stuff, but I don't think they'd run them into the ground throughout their stay.
I like the fact they're a football team as well: it makes sense that they'd be able to handle what the SAS threw at them more than an entire class-full of random children.
