Honestly, I've never seen a Joker/OC with the OC being older than him. It's a nice twist and I like Sam a lot. There's only so much damsel in distress victimization one can take. And I definitely agree with what he said about having no patience for girls with daddy issues. They get killed or used and tossed away, that's the Harley Quinn mold.
