This is quite good. It's always a little difficult to inject seriousness into the Psych universe, but you've done it nicely, without upsetting the characterization a whole lot. I'm especially fond of the scene where Gus is being questioned - you've got his voice spot-on there. He would always defend Shawn, even in this situation, and he'd be as cool as can be, absolutely sure of himself (just like you've written him) while he did so.

Only one thing you might want to edit, this sentence: "She had a feeling that Mather’s murderer was currently sobbing into her shoulder and holding onto her tightly, like he might drift away without her there." I believe it ought to be Mathers' rather than Mather's. Other than that, excellent! Hope to see more Psych fic from you in the future. :)

This was incredible! I'm heartbroken by this, and yet so glad I read it! You have a wonderful gift, and stayed perfectly true to the characters in spite of the upheaval of this tramatic ordeal. You should, if you can, post this at Psychfic- it would be a fabulous addition to the site!
