LtsHrIt4ThBoyz chapter 10 . 7/9 Wow, my first critique of your writing, but as this is the first time I've had anything to quibble over, first let me say that overall this was another amazing chapter! Chocked full of information and more realistic events than canon! Of course Moldy would go after non-magical leaders! He was born in and grew up in non-magical world! He would *know* about who to hit and where. BUT would he?! Seriously, unless he's totally, 100% truly 'Cuckoo for Coco-Puffs' this is not a Moldywarts sanctioned move! He *lived through WWII*, so he'd also know about and understand the kind of weapons that the non-Maj are capable of wielding! Hiroshima & Nagasaki would have been KNOWN by him! Sure, the occasional 'muggle' and 'muggle-born', but to kick over the hornet's nest this early in his 2nd bid for power? The DEs are 99.9% Purebloods and have little or no knowledge even less fear of 'muggles'. They don't even know how greatly the non-magicals *outnumber* them! This is just another example of the grave disservice that Numblenuts has done the magical population! By allowing "Muggle Studies" to be taught by a Pureblood who has no knowledge of the muggle world and continuing to allow the curriculum to remain at least 100 years out of date he's promulgated the Pureblood's illusions of superiority AND *endangered the Statute of Secrecy*! By having a ghost teaching another outdated and isolated version of a CORE subject instead of a more balanced and CURRENT view of History, Dingleberry has been chancing the destruction of all Magicals, everywhere! I don't care that he's 'fixing' his mistakes *now*! He's attempting to close the barn door, but the horse has fled! - Sorry, dear one, but I think you might have rushed the description of the Ritual a tiny bit. Unless you're planning on describing it in more detail, in a flashback, further on in the story? It's the first time I've seen you short yourself in a scene; it really stood out! ;) Wow, busy chapter! Movin' on now! I know it's old, but it's still worthy of commentary and notice no matter the age or state of completion! I LOVE this story! So there! Nyaa! ;D Thanks again! MelJ :D |
LtsHrIt4ThBoyz chapter 9 . 7/9 Dang! You didn't even give *us* a chance to 'guess' the movie! ;) Of course, I wouldn't have been guessing! Real Genius is one of my all-time favorites! I was going to give the next line, too: "Why am I the only one who has that dream?" But you beat me to the punch! Lol! Val Kilmer, man; amazing actor (Thunderheart, Heat, Tombstone, The Doors, etc.) and a spiritual supplicant. - Incredible chapter! The fact that this time Moldyshorts is moving quickly and with purpose and planning is 100 times scarier than Rowling's poorly-written, slow-as-molasses bs! Had the sheeple stood up en mass to the DEs earlier, most of the silly shite wouldn't have happened! For Dumbasfudge to withhold vital information until the 6th book was some of the stupidest crap I'd ever read! The Alliance being unable to move against the advances of the enemy due to their inability to go to a "War Footing" is the utmost of foolishness! Abraham Lincoln *believed* in the Constitution with near-religious fervor, but he still suspended Habeus Corpus when it became absolutely necessary. My 2nd most favorite President, Theodore Roosevelt, was also one of our most effective leaders because he addressed problems head-on! He only ended up as Vice Pres. because the Bosses in NY thought that by booting him 'upstairs' that they could get back to 'business as usual'. It didn't work! Dumbles, the Order, and Amelia, with or without Fudge are going to have to get dirty and nasty on this or they're going to lose! Is Dumbdumb still going to waffle around with his '2nd chances' bs? And is the dip just going to wait around on Harry saving their assets? Whew, tough chapter! Thanks! MelJ :D |
LtsHrIt4ThBoyz chapter 8 . 7/9 I LOVE this story; it's right up my alley! I have no quibble nor qualms about the story's direction, your characters, nothing: It's flowing from scene to scene effortlessly and logically... So, can you blame for latching onto and being intrigued by your fascinating autobiographical observations that you so casually toss into your wonderful A/Ns? I could so easily sit down and discuss the vital and foundational necessity of a grounding in Philosophy and Critical Thinking that is profoundly lacking and nearly extinct in the generations following ours. Theology: I've had some incredibly insightful and wonderful conversations with various open-minded Clerics over the years and Comparative Religion and Asian Studies were amazing! I'll let you go and I'll get back to the story! Thanks for the memories! MelJ :D |
LtsHrIt4ThBoyz chapter 7 . 7/9 I'm a huge fan of the Goblin Race and Culture and no, it didn't take reading Robst's "Harry Crow" to turn me on to them. I was fascinated with the 'Idea' of other Magical Races, Beings, and Creatures; even with Rowling's poorly concealed disdain for all other Magical Races-while she loudly declared that those Races 'had their place' and shouldn't be destroyed, she wrote them with such condescension; I believe that though she seemingly wrote of the Fountain in the MoM as though she thought it ridiculous, she does not describe any of the other sentient magical Beings as being of any more import than at best, 'supporting players' whilst the 'grown-ups' will take care of the 'Big Bad and maybe, collaterally save them as well. No, my mind was opened very young as from the age of four, I was allowed to stay up and watch "Star Trek" (TOS) from its Premiere until its much bereaved final episode. It allowed me to think of all other living beings as having importance and that *their* 'stories' were worth hearing and valuing! I've been a massive Sci-Fi and Fantasy biblioholic all my life because of *that* realization when I was just beginning to form my views of the world. Please feel free to offer up any and all recs that create and/or explore the cultures of other Magical Races. I'm constantly on the lookout for those types of stories! ;D Thanks! MelJ :D |
LtsHrIt4ThBoyz chapter 6 . 7/9 OMG! I've finally found a writer who's honest enough *in PUBLIC* to voice what many other HPff writers have stated in private discussion with me and for which I've been pilloried for stating in nearly all my reviews and commentary since discovering HPff in 2011/12! I throw /*/*/* (roses) and Mwah****** (kisses) to you! You ROCK! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! You're 1000 times the writer Rowling is or ever will be! I've been reading some fans' disappointment over the great fraud's latest works ("Cursed Child", etc.) and I find myself laughing and sadly, gloating ;( my asp off! They're only just now discovering that Rowling is really Lockfart and that by dint of the shenanigans of a *really powerful* PR campaign, they bought the most expensive set of X-OVER FANFICTIONS EVER WRITTEN *without* acknowledgments or accreditations! ;- I salute you, oh wise one who forewent imbibing the Rowling 'Kool-aid'! Luv ya; mean it! MelJ :D |
LtsHrIt4ThBoyz chapter 4 . 7/9 "To be or not to be? That is the question! Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of trouble. And, by opposing, end them? To die, to sleep...No more... And by a sleep to say we end the heartache and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to; ’tis a consummation devoutly to be wished! To die, to sleep. To sleep, perchance to dream. Aye, there’s the rub. For what dreams may come, in that sleep of death, whence we have shuffled off this mortal coil! Make give us pause..." -Hamlet That's all I can remember of his soliloquy. So much incredible stuff in just this short piece! I couldn't resist your challenge, old though it may be! ;D MelJ :D |
Just William chapter 20 . 7/8 I assume that this story has been abandoned? |
Arodri chapter 20 . 6/8 This was absolutely incredible! I so wish it were finished, but I love how creative and unique it was! I love the fresh originality that really made it it’s own story that stands separate and, in my opinion, more intriguing than most. I really loved it! |
sthrobbins chapter 13 . 5/31 Is there any chance you will cease the self-indulgence and proceed with the narrative? Just went to Chap. 14- there is not. |
Unicornsfz chapter 6 . 5/24 I just realized something, in the first book when Harry gets his Hogwarts letter doesn't it say; (To: Mr. Harry Potter The Cupboard under the stairs 4 Privet Drive Little Whinging Surrey) By the way, I love your story, you are a very talented writer |
DesertPirate chapter 20 . 5/18 Love this and hope someday it might be completed. |
Freddie Rindklip chapter 5 . 5/6 Thank you for writing. |
AerynS chapter 1 . 5/5 To quote me from my college days, "This is some good shit!" |
HeartsGlow chapter 20 . 3/10 I really like this story. There are plagiarists out there now trying to "write" your stories, perhaps because you never finished some of them? |
HeartsGlow chapter 17 . 3/8 So, now I'm picturing Vizovice Chateau as per you description. (It's a Louis XVI) Do you have a building in mind that looks like your idea of Rowan Hill? |
