I liked the part where Watson came to after he fainted when Holmes came back.

Just returned to read this once again after watching your video on YouTube, so Ill just combine my praise for this fic as well as that for your vid since I am not a member of YouTube adn cannot do so there.

I think youve got Jeremy Bretts Holmes as well as Edward Hardwickes Watson down to perfection and give nice insights into the characters thoughts. I also like the shifts in the POVs.

And now Im afraid Ive also got to compliment Jeremy on his perfect performance of Holmes. It was he who actually introduced me to the Sherlock Holmes books and for that I am extremely grateful. Another great compiment to you for the scenes you chose to show us Watsons nostalgia. Well done and thank you!

This is one of the most amazing stories I've ever read it made me cry... I'm still crying it made me think of me and my best friend we have a friendship so much like Watson and Holmes do... I hope you don't mind but I sent the quote to my friend “If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I’ll always be with you.” I had to share the sear bittersweet beauty of it with her she is my Watson this true a touching one chapter Fanfic I've ever read you have an amazing gift your mom would be proud.

I stumbled into this little story of yours, and I have to say it did some justice on what Watson could have been going through in Holmes' absence. The emotions were heartfelt and raw, something that was mentioned almost in passing in the canon.

(As an aside, I just wanted to mention that particular stanza from that Lighthouse Family song was actually taken from U2's aptly-named song, "One".)

Once again i was lost in your world! My friend your skill and mastery of writing has amazed me! It was amazing! I cannot say more because i cant think of what to say!

That was simply amazing. I was going to just give a short review but I have to take the time to do a long one, because this had me speechless.

First off, you've captured the Granada H&W perfectly, and the scene added to the beginning before the courthouse bit was so sadly perfect. :( And I love that you switched from Holmes to Watson in POVs; that was wonderful, especially Holmes's "Oh my dear Watson, I am so sorry I cannot be there to catch you fall." -perfect considering what's ahead.

Then you've got Hardwicke's Watson down perfectly with his not caring how the world treated him - I never wanted to kick anyone like I did that insufferable judge in EMPT. Then you've got grieving down exactly with the wanting to be alone and yet not wanting to. Poor old Watson!

And as if the part we saw in EMPT wasn't emotional enough, you added perfect touches from Holmes's POV to complete the picture - wonderfully done.

And that passage Watson is thinking of - where in the world did you read that, or did you make it up? It's perfect, and so powerful I read it three times just to get it all.

And the Valhalla-like ending was beautiful.

One tiny date issue, though, it would have been far more than 20 years later, as 20 years later they were both alive and well in LAST.

Other than that, this was perfect in every way. A lovely tribute to Granada, Holmes and Watson, and a beautiful way to honor the memory of a loved one. Definitely one of my favorites. Well done!
