MugaiJohn chapter 1 . 9/19/2008 The story is a little bland, probably just because I'm not too thrilled by some of the characters. Otherwise, it is decent. There are a lot of grammatical, spelling, and typographical errors I think you should attend to; for example "Wheather, they their..." The italicized ending is also fairly weak because it addresses the reader. There is no problem with addressing the reader, but openly saying, "That is yours to decide" really takes away from the feeling of accomplishment of reading the story. "If it is mine to decide, I decide that this story was a waste of my time because..." The scene where Hilde was falling out of the ring is equally upsetting by the frailty of it. It breaks its own suspension of disbelief by the fact she is falling and she can notice the ring starting to get smaller and smaller, and she somehow manages to thrust her short sword into the side of the tower...but wait. If she's fallen so far, chances are that she's a fair ways down the tower, and climbing up is more of an arduous task than can be accomplished within the time-span of the paragraphs following it. My advice: Don't make the fall seem especially long, make it feel like its life or death by the fact Hilde's heart stops as she is flung from the precipice, gravity pulls her stomach into her throat, feeling weightlessly suspended in time, or whatever. Anyway, I'll stop with the critiques; keep writing and don't stop being creative. |
Apeopher Columbus chapter 1 . 8/16/2008 Pretty cool. First SCIV story I've seen so far. I'm working on one now, with the Apprentice being the main character. It's gonna be either a oneshot or a twoshot, I'm not sure. |
Cirex chapter 1 . 8/14/2008 If only Namco actualy made this the canon ending |
Maze2010 chapter 1 . 8/13/2008 Very good, a few capitalization errors, but nothing serious. |
