  Guest chapter 1 . 6/7/2016 Maa, the stale-water thing is part right, it's also an issue of how sanitary it is to drink, so "grog" is literally water-mixed-with-some-alcohol, like rum, to make it safer to drink (kills the bacteria) and maybe slightly more interesting. Too much straight alcohols, like rum, can actually dehydrate you worse, but this is One Piece and things like physics and biology only have the most basic influence brushing their reality so who cares. XD |

The part with the rum actually made me think of Pirates of the Caribeean (sorry, never know how to write this in english (Frenchy frenchy I am XD)), when Jack & Elizabeth are on the lost island and she's burning all the rum and Jack keeps saying "but why is there no more rum?" xD!... | HardlyRue chapter 1 . 5/23/2011 Loved it! I can definitely picture Ace's horror at Luffy's scar/devil fruit. And I can picture him plotting way's to torture Shank's. On a side note the main reason ships carried rum rather than water was because the alcohol killed any bacteria. In those days it was easy to accidentally get polluted water and die from diseases it might have carried. |

Sadly I can see this happening since Ace cares for Luffy, but now that makes me wonder how Garp (Luffy's grandpa and the vice-admiral of the marines who kept cornering Gold Roger) would take what happen to Luffy. I read somewhere (I believe it was the One Piece on ) that Garp knew about Shanks and since Garp cares for Luffy... How do you think he would take it? |
