Know what author? As someone who witnessed her only love trying to make some sense to someone, telling that they belong to each other, really hurts. I know, I've been there. Just trying to keep comfort in knowing he's happy even if it's not you, actually gradually kills you. That tightening of your chest not just when you see them together but also seeing his genuine smile knowing someone else's doing it just took the big part of the cake. It's heart breaking! That's why when I read this, it really brought back memories. Memories that should be long forgotten, hopefully. Waaaaaahhhh! It's really your fault. It still hurts. Now, I don't know if I can still sleep tonight. :-( sigh

A nice snapshot piece. Orihime insights are always interesting. She seems to occasionally have... the opposite of tunnel vision. I forget what it's called. She's perceptive about everyone... except Ichigo, at times. The rain holds sadness for Ichigo and Rukia, but Orihime wants to be the rain? It could connect them... but they're stronger without it.

I've always wondered about the contrast in their opinions about the rain; Orihime sees it as something that connects the Earth and the sky... but for Ichigo and Rukia, it only bears separation - from Masaki, Kaien... each other.
