I always head cannon that a Zuko is partly or all blind in the eye as why would he be doing basic firebending at 16 if he been doing firebending so for at least 10 years In his life? He had to relearn to fight and such plus he may have been scared or having panic attacks to anything near his face.

Toph and Zuko's friendship is one of my favorite things-and of all people, she would be the least likely to judge someone by appearances. I suspect even if she could see it would be the same.

Zuko is my favorite too. I loved this one shot.

I like it. Everything was believable and readable, which are definitely two things to strive for, and the characterizations were good.

I was expecting Toph to ask if he had a scar, but the way you wrote it made me literally say "awe" outloud. It was very well written and I adore it! I love how Zuko reacted and how Toph made it clear that his scar wasn't a bad thing. Very beautiful!

This is a very cool fic that brings up an interesting point: since Toph can't see, she never sees the scar on Zuko's face that makes him so uncanny, and it's unlikely she's heard about, considering that the rest of the Gaang almost never bring it up. It's a point that makes it obvious once you think about it, but it's one that I never thought about before reading this. More importantly, it's a point not many people thought about; kudos for thinking in a way not many people do.

You did a good job keeping the characters believable, and for including the underused Haru, Teo, and the Duke. You can understand their neutrality towards Zuko; on the one hand, like Katara, they are cautious towards trusting a firebender, let alone the Fire Prince Zuko. On the other hand, none of them have met Zuko before, and the reason they aren't hostile like Katara is probably due to Aang, Toph, and Sokka, who have accepted him into the group.

I also like how Katara had the shame to be guilty about bringing up Zuko's scar, even while she hated him; it would perhaps be the only scenario during this time period where Zuko would have the clear upper ground in argument with her. Also good job on keeping the Zuko/Katara relationship subtle; I can see the reasoning behind supporting Zutara, but I always stick with canon couplings.

But the prize of this short story is Toph's inquiry on Zuko's scar. The scar that all the characters seem to take for granted, yet remains unknown and immaterial for the blind girl who was the first to accept him into the group. It makes sense that she would be the only one daring enough to ask about the scar, and the only one would would dismiss it as if it didn't matter (which to her, it doesn't).

The only problems I see in this fic are some improper formation of hyphens and "...", in addition to the misspelling of "Ba Sing Se."

But those errors are small and easily corrected, and do not take away the story's quality. "A" for this piece.

That's a really good take on this situation. More people should deal with this in their fics! You got the characterization down well and I really liked the way you write Toph - open, honest, unapologetic. She's a great foil for Zuko in that respect. Very cute story!

Actually, Toph is 9. Aang is 12. Which is why I hate that he and Katara get together in the show. He is waaay to young. Maybe later on, but not now, please! I like this story. A lot.

Wow. I found your stories a bit late, I think. Good think I didn't completely overlook them, your writing style is great!

The interaction between all the Avatar characters was so well depicted: Zuko is touching, and I could feel very clearly the tension between him and Katara. Zuko thanking her in the end despite everything she had just said was adorable: thank you so much for not writing Katara as a pretty moron or a complete bitch, I needed it so much. :-)

Also, one of the best interpretations of Toph I have ever seen. You stressed the childish part of her personality a lot more than most writers, I think, and it makes her a deeper character. Also, I found your description of her eyes very cute.
