Shadow Huntres chapter 1 . 6/26
I know you're unlikely to post any more after eleven years, but I just finished this and I've fallen in love with your work. Please know it is still loved and appropriated after all this time.

Long Live 3.5!
juliamaestaley chapter 13 . 5/5/2015
So sad this is done here. I'm writing a Mindflayer/sort of thrall centric fiction myself that I hope to post soon, and reading yours has been really awesome. I love the way you represented the Illithid race. You really capture their evilness.

:)
Illithid Fan chapter 13 . 8/1/2009
I love your story and the Mind Flayers. I was wondering if this has come to an end, due to the fact that you don't have enough time any more. It is a shame, this was very entertaining. I've even been allowed to create an ulitharid character for a dnd game and I chose it because of how interesting your characters are.

Well done. I hope to someday see some more.
raxies94 chapter 12 . 3/11/2009
Good chapter. Illithiliches always make things more interesting.
Iceheart Firesoul chapter 12 . 3/11/2009
Aha, so this is the wizardly illithid that we first met. I think it's even more interesting than Maslynrensine, with the way it so fundamentally disagrees with the bulk of illithid culture. They seem a fairly homogeneous lot otherwise. I also rather like it because of its ability to send poor Mas into impotent rages- it's rather fun to watch the high and mighty ulitharid throwing tantrums. :D

Poor Charinda, though. I'm glad that we finally found out what the crystal-thingy was, but having a piece of Maslynrensine inside one is not a pleasant thing to contemplate. It seems like we are embarking on a new section of plot, yay! :)
Thazienne chapter 11 . 2/26/2009
I loved that quote from LoM and use it as my base against the whole Drizzt being captured by mind flayers in Exile(I think that was Exile) and then immediately thrown in the pits. Any good master who force his dominated slave to do something it couldn't not only for the complete mastery of it... but it fun to watch them be humiliated when they do it poorly. My argue is that he should have been a seamstress. But I digress *often*... Mas making Char call him master was awful and wonderful at the same time.
Thazienne chapter 10 . 2/26/2009
Woo hoo... let's through clerics into the curses too... but known for scheming blue dragons. Mas seems to have insights on insights, not the kid of person you want to play "What's in my hand?" with.
Thazienne chapter 9 . 2/26/2009
Would eating the brain of a fire genasi be like trying wasabi for the first time? The unbeknownst slight by Jusztiirn just funny. I actually noticed it right on sight... Although I had the brief image of Mas and Char as royalty together. Thankfully, that image was brief. Char's curses were wonderful.
Thazienne chapter 8 . 2/26/2009
Sorry for the lack of reviewing... Char's reaction to being called ahalf-breed was classic. Ched Nasad is such a wonderful setting... I'm not sure if I mentioned that. I wish I enjoyed drow enough to actually do something with it... Mas seems to smart to get duped by some dirty drow... and a male one to boot. But it should prove interesting.
raxies94 chapter 11 . 2/11/2009
O, an illithilich. Those guys always spice things up. The chapter was good, though I was wanting more development. But move at your own pace.
raxies94 chapter 10 . 2/7/2009
Nice chapter. It has been a while, hasn't it?
Mats Forsen chapter 9 . 12/13/2008
Amazing storyline so far, fresh and original with a viewpoint seldom seen. I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure!
raxies94 chapter 9 . 11/21/2008
Lookin good. I kind of like the blow to Maslynrensine's ego.
Iceheart Firesoul chapter 9 . 11/16/2008
Maslynrensine was taken off guard by something? Incredible- although I'm not sure whether to give any of the credit to the stealthiness of the attacker, or just to it indulging its bookwormishness.

For all that illithids have been characterized as being ultimately pragmatic, its insistence on giving Charinda the more difficult task seems a bit petty. Perhaps ulitharids are granted more freedom to be impractical and proud...

In any case, I am looking forward to seeing how Charinda does against the howling thingummy, and what was possibly suicidal enough to attack a reading ulitharid.
