I've always loved how you write Fai's dreams. In this story and ToI as well. Excellent chapter, and I do agree, it must have been really hard to write it .

I liked the two voices and how you made them become one.

"Ours."

I've been wondering about something. How does Fay know that Kamui and Subaru are twins? How does he even know Subaru exists? I mean, he loses his eye and passes out before Subaru wakes up. And while the twins tell their story, he's barely conscious.

Fai's a little slow on things in this chapter. I mean "...they are not weakened by the sun or holy water." should ring a bell. But, well, I don't blame him, after all he went through during the past hours his mind and body must be exhausted. And with all the new sensations as well. Which brings me to say that you wrote that part very well, the hearing, the smell and the hunger. What a way to end the chapter!

Oh, and in this sentence, you repeat "not eternally young" twice: "They are not eternally young nor are they immortal nor are they eternally young but since these two..."

"...and by all rights should have been dead a long time ago"

That small, short sentence expresses so much what Fai's thoughts of himself are.

What do you mean this doesn't follow the manga too well? It seems pretty accurate. Well, sometimes I do get too caught up in the fanfictionnal world and forget the original story. And sometimes, I talk too much and forget to get to the point. So yeah, great chapter :P

This chapter was much more angsty than the first.

"I'm... sorry." Best part!

Can you clarify something?

Fai says "I don't want to die but... I don't deserve to."

Then, later on: "there was no doubt in his mind he'd get the one thing he did deserve very soon."

I'm confused as to what he thinks he deserves or not. In the first sentence he says he doesn't deserve to die, but in the second he says he'll get what he deserves, which is dying? Or maybe that one thing isn't dying? huh...?

"Just hold on..."

That sentence alone says so much.

I was iffy about this story until this chapter...it seemed awfully straight-forward up till now. But this chapter has completely changed my mind! This whole "dreaming" sequence is amazing, both in writing and in content. I've never seen a fic that talks about the twins' parents at all, and I LOVE that their mother was a mage. I LOVE that the original Fai was the one who tried to keep their spirits up, who believed they didn't deserve it . . .

This is unique and the emotion in it is so raw and real. Great work.

you're right, this one is very good! fai angst. Is. Love. I can't wait to see what happens next, though i love all the Kuro-myu-acting-how-he-really-fells. kuro-myu can't really get ono Fai about hiding his feeling when he does the same exact thig, now can he? See ya soon!
